perfect adaptor
Does what it says to do

Reasonable build quality.
Does what it says on the tin. Occasionally, it may struggle to reconnect to headset if headset connects to another device. Just as well, it may miss connecting to the strongest signal and pairs with other audio devices in vicinity (it connected to my soundbar in the next room, but that may be anecdotal). Having said that, it works flawless 99% of time, it works great and is fairly easy to live with. It remembers last connected device and reconnects when plugged back in. Once connected, keeps connected for hours. Perfect to bypass bluetooth device restrictions in particular work device scenarios.

This really is one of the best Bluetooth adapters ever, for me, and it really is "Plug and Play"
Really pleased with this USB-C Bluetooth 5.3 adapter from AVANTREE for PCs etc. On Every one of my pcs or laptops, non of the Bluetooth have ever worked, and I give up even trying, as the operating systems are so so unhelpful. This device, sounds perfect, and best of all, no wires, no drivers, no software, just 'plug and play'. The reason I am glad about this, is I am fed up with installing drivers on pcs for 'this and that', and in the end the whole PC gets Saturated, so this is a bonus not having to use drivers. And it really is "Plug and Play", as it appeared as soon as I plugged it into my Laptop. The Bluetooth adapter has many extra qualities too: Microphone support for meetings, APTX-Adaptive Support to enable much needed stable connections and efficient energy consumption (one of my images from the makers shows just how much work has gone into the creation of this device), and believe it or not, no audio delays when used with aptX-LL / aptx-Adaptive headphones for ultra low latency. (nothing worse, as you can imagine, talking to a person and the video and sound are out of sync). Talking of sound, the device supports 24-Bit High Definition audio, and even an extended range for this Bluetooth adapter. Older adapters from others are around 33feet (10 metres), this one claims up to 100 feet (30 metres) which is amazing. I have included 9 images of the adapter in and out the packing, and also in use on my laptop, bringing at last some life to the laptop now that it can receive and process Bluetooth., it also means that I can send images from my phone to the laptop, rather than the long winded way of having to email images from phone to laptop, and Bluetooth Audio is perfect too.

Works as intended
The Avantree C81-PC USB-C Bluetooth 5.3 Adapter offers seamless connectivity for wireless headphones on PCs and Macs without requiring additional drivers or software. It supports high-definition audio with Qualcomm's aptX-LL, HD, and Adaptive codecs, ensuring rich, 24-bit sound with minimal latency (55ms or less) when paired with compatible headphones. Ideal for meetings and calls, it allows the use of your headphone’s built-in microphone, seamless and flawlessly. With a range of up to 100 feet, you can move freely while listening, and the dual-link feature lets you connect two sets of Bluetooth headphones simultaneously, making it perfect for sharing audio experiences.

Some volume issues on Windows PCs. But perfect for Samsung S25 phones.
Despite what it says in the description of this product, it works with my Samsung S25 plugged into its USB C socket. When I bought this I figured it would work because it is a standard USB audio class 2 device. This is the same standard that USB C wired headphones use. So it works because it is pretending to be a like device and the phone thinks it is exactly that. A pair of USB C wired headphones. It has a built in Bluetooth radio so it transmits audio to any paired Bluetooth headphones independently of the phone. It also encodes aptX-HD itself so Android and the phone's chip has absolutely nothing to do with it either. Some manufacturers seem to be intentionally disabling aptX-HD support. Probably to encourage people to buy their own matching devices with their own proprietary codecs for high quality audio. Now it is built in to the Android source code royalty free there is no other reaosn they should leave it out of their customised versions of Android. Samsung have recommended buying Galaxy buds for high drfinition audio. While this is fine for most, if you have studio over ear headphones, or other non Samsung devices, for HD audio you will need a phone which supports aptX-HD. It is a standard which is supported by most non Samsung Bluetooth audio devices. And that is why this device is so useful for enabling HD support on these kind of phones. Manufacturers can disable it on their phones chips and customised versions of Android but they can't disable the use of this. Otherwiwe they would have to disable wired USB C headphone support altogether. Or install some sort of DRM protection checks to make sure only wired headphones they approve are allowed to be used by the phones, to lock out devices like this. As for Windows I have had slight volume issues with this device when usee with Windows 11. The volume has stuck really loud, and turning it down even to 0 does not work. I had to unplug and plug it back in to fix it when this happened. I took a star off because of this. I would say this product is worth the money if it weren't for the issues on Windows, but it isn't value for money with Android either, because manufacturers shouldn't be turning off a royalty-free codec anyway. In a way manufacturers like Samsung might have shot themselves in the foot this way while trying to make more money from their own Bluetooth headphones. If everyone would rather buy this for aptX HD support than buy buds then Qualcomm will make even more money. Qualcomm are getting twice the money from customers who buy aptX headphones and this transmitter, because while the software encoder built in to Android is royalty free, transmitter hardware like this is not.

I usually do not write reviews, but had to for this one, works on pc (with mic form headset support, mic bad quality, this is normal with most Bluetooth dingles, but at least it works). And works on ps5 (audio), connects super fasts and works well on my Sony wh-1000xm6.

Works well with my AirPods 4. Connection is pretty stable. I can now use my AirPods for work meetings. Sound quality is ok, not the best sound quality for AirPods since it works best with the AAC codec. But overall I'm happy with my purchase.

If you’re experiencing choppy Linux audio, especially with a Realtek Bluetooth chipset, stop fighting with BlueZ and consider replacing the Bluetooth hardware entirely with a USB audio-to-Bluetooth transmitter. My PC has a Realtek Bluetooth chipset on the internal sound card, which has been a persistent source of audio problems on Linux. The most noticeable issue was music skipping in Spotify, along with intermittent stutters and lost audio frames. After far too much troubleshooting and frustration, I finally looked for a clean hardware solution. Imagine installing a completely new sound card just by plugging in a USB dongle. That’s essentially what I did. I purchased the Avantree C81-PC Bluetooth transmitter and the Avantree Audition 3 over-ear headphones, and they work perfectly. Setup was truly plug-and-play. No drivers, no configuration, no BlueZ issues, and absolutely no hassle. I just plugged in the adapter, selected it as my audio output, and music played flawlessly. I’m genuinely impressed. This isn’t an advertisement. I have no affiliation with Avantree, and before this week I had never even heard of the company. I’m simply sharing a practical solution for anyone struggling with Bluetooth audio under Linux—especially if you have a Realtek chipset and experience skipping or playback instability. Why this works Instead of relying on the internal Realtek Bluetooth radio, the Avantree adapter behaves as a USB audio device and handles Bluetooth transmission in hardware. This completely bypasses the Linux Bluetooth stack, kernel drivers, Realtek firmware, BlueZ profiles, and related audio quirks. If your audio problems come from chipset or driver instability—this approach simply eliminates them. Avantree C81-PC (Key Features) Microphone support: Your Bluetooth headset’s mic works in meetings and calls. High-definition audio: Supports aptX-Adaptive, aptX-HD, and aptX-LL (low latency). No perceptible delay: Perfectly synced audio with compatible headphones. Long range: Advertised up to 30 meters. It comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter and is compatible with PC, Mac, and Linux. Avantree Audition 3 (Headphones) Excellent comfort and battery life aptX Adaptive / HD support for improved fidelity “Clear Voice Mode” for spoken content Wireless charging dock included Lightweight and comfortable for long use Any other headphones or earbuds that support compatible aptX codecs will also work well with the C81-PC. Bottom Line If you’re struggling with choppy audio, stuttering, or Spotify skipping under Linux and you suspect a Realtek Bluetooth chipset is involved, a hardware USB audio transmitter is a highly effective workaround. In my case, the difference was immediate and dramatic. This may be the solution you’ve been looking for.
