Great buy, works like a charm.
I didn’t realize how badly my old pump was functioning but I ignored the evidence. Since replacing it with the new pump, the aquarium has been clean and algae free. The first one lasted about 6 years. Not bad for a small submersible device. I definitely recommend this pump.

Great little pump!
I bought this pump to use in my Fluval Spec V 5gal tank. I did have to turn it sideways to fit but it is working perfect! It does not come with any tubing so make sure you hang onto your old ones.

Shouldn't have waited so long to replace
I've had this Fluval Spec V for about 5 years. I didn't notice that the motor was getting noisier and noisier. When I plugged the new one in it was silent. Got to hand it to the makers of this pump that ran reliably for these 5 years though!

Perfect replacement for Spec II pump.
This pump is an identical replacement for the pump in my Spec 2. It does not come with tubing, elbow or nozzle. I’ve included a picture of the pumps together (new pump on right) so that you can see they match.

No alternative but it’s fine
I think this is a little expensive for what it is. The original pump that came with the Spec V expired within 2 years. This is the only pump that will fit that. However, upon installing replacement, the aquarium is humming again. My Spec V was only down less than 2 days. Fast shipping.

Perfect to replace Fluval Spec pump
This little guy saved me when my Fluval V pump gave out after a couple years. It's been running for a couple months now and is great so far. I'm glad I found something that fits into the tiny Fluval V compartment.

Not a fluval genuine pump
Not a genuine pump. Makes no sense to pay a premium for a genuine pump when there are plenty of knock off pumps at half the price. Turns out Amazon doesn't care about this and allows sale of sub-par non-oem parts at premium price. Not even the same spec pump as original. See attached photo of used fluval pump on the left and what I received from this listing on the right.
