A great flavoured base for your chilli

Great value for the money came fast.

Made this tonight and it went down a treat. We omitted the kidney beans as one of our family member does not enjoy them. I did deviate slightly from the directions listed on the sachet, but none the less it came out great. Here's my steps: 1) As with all of my cooking that includes onions, I fried them off first until browned. 2) I added the mince until browned and then sieved the excess fat off and then returned the browned onions and mince back into the saucepan. 3) In a measuring jug (I used a 500ml one), I combined chopped tomatoes(tinned), the sachet contents and 150ml of water and mixed well. 4) I then added the mixture to the mince and brought it to the boil. After boiled, I reduced the heat and then covered the saucepan and simmered for 30 minutes. 5) Before plating, I had garnished it with some chopped coriander and a few slices of lime. This recipe also goes well with sour cream and/or salsa mixed into the sauce which really brings out the flavour.

The quality of this product means that I have used this for forty years. I apply this mix directly to the mince during the browning process both to add colour and seasoning. I then add my tomato sauce: by using the product this way adds real depth.
