Hollywood superstar Bruce Willis brings a powerful presence to an edge-of-your-seat thriller from writer-director M. Night Shyamalan that critics are calling one of the greatest ghost stories ever filmed. Review: A great film - Ladies grab your boyfriend or significant other. You'll need someone to grab onto because this film is scary. Excellent script and acting. One of Bruce Willis best . This is a film and the first time I watched it I nearly came out of the chair. Seriously deep and deals with the afterlife right in the City of Philadelphia. Amazing as every actor delivers a stellar performance. I highly recommend this film. Review: Highly recommend this one - Really great movie! Amazing twist!

One of the finest examples of a suspenseful mystery movie.
The Sixth Sense is one of the finest examples of a suspenseful mystery movie. It could be considered horror but the intrigue far outweighs the eerie. Masterfully directed, expertly acted, and perfectly paced, The Sixth Sense should be used in film school to teach the next generation of film students how to craft suspense. Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) is an awkward child with a big secret, Cole just wants a normal life and to fix his relationship with his mother, Lynn (Toni Collette). Cole doesn't share his secret with anyone until he meets a disheartened child psychologist. Dr. Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) was once awarded for his work with troubled children had a case go wrong in the worst way. Since then his confidence has been shaken. He sees a lot of the patient he failed in young Cole and is determined to help him, even after finding out his hard to believe secret. The Sixth Sense grabs audiences from the very premise. An innocent looking child has the ability to see the dead. Not only that but the dead interact with him, and don't realize that they are dead. The added element of a praised child psychologist who loses his way after a case goes terribly wrong brings a new angle of intrigue to the story. As the mystery slowly unravels the suspense is ramped up. The lack of special effects make the film timeless as well as grounded in reality. The audience can grasp the subtle but well done practical effects more than they would be able to ghosts or animated visages, no matter how convincingly they were done. Cole is constantly frightened and Haley Joel Osment portrayed the character with such expertise he was at the height of his career at eleven years old. That statement isn't meant as a slight against the actor, but praise at his ability to command the screen at such a young age. Especially while acting against a star as huge as Bruce Willis. Willis drops his tough guy persona to play the soft spoken child psychologist. He is excellent in scenes with his wife as a caring husband who wants nothing more than to close the emotional gap that worked its way into his marriage. He is even more impressive as a relatable doctor who can get into the mind of an eleven year old child and talk to him as an equal. The direction of the film is outstanding. The framing, tone, and score add just as much to the drama as the high caliber acting. The way the camera is placed draws the audience into the movie in such a way that even though this film doesn't have big action, big set pieces, or Michael Bay level explosions, this is a film that deserves the full on cinema experience. The camera placement and staging is even more noticeable, and appreciated, on multiple viewings of the movie. The film is low lit, dull, somewhat depressing for the most part. This is done intentionally to help with the tone. The movie is tense throughout. Brief moments of levity are expertly placed throughout so the audience doesn't collectively develop ulcers. The Sixth Sense is worth anyone's time. Whether a fan of horror or not, since it can't exactly be labeled as horror. Especially not the lazy buckets of karo syrup and loud noises over quality writing that horror has become. At the time of this writing it is difficult to find someone who hasn't seen this movie. Given that information this movie is worth a rewatch.

FANTASTIC HALLOWEEN MOVIE--GHOSTS!
GREAT MOVIE FOR HALLOWEEN! Fabulous story, can be startling/scary for some family members, but the tale keeps you watching and eases these parts. It is not a horror flick. Love the twist ending!!

Should have won for best actor
A very good movie the only downside is it tends to have you think in a biogender society which I do not agree with

Strong Story Telling and Exceptional Casting
I would say this is a mild horror movie. I am easily frightened by scary movies, especially ones that deal with paranormal activity. But, although this movie had a few intense moments, none of them "haunted" me after it ended. The casting was spot on; the little boy's movements, face expressions, and manner of speaking seemed genuine. The story line and plot was also great. It is one of those movies where there was a twist ending that I didn't see coming. But upon its reveal, I thought, "Duh! It makes perfect sense!" It was something that was so obvious and yet somehow I missed it.
