For around $15, this little dongle is absolutely essential gear.
I picked up the Silicon Power C200 because I needed a way to transfer 4K drone footage directly to my iPhone 15 without hauling around a laptop or a clunky hub. I wanted something small that I could keep on my keychain or in my drone bag. The speed is surprisingly good. I tested it with a high-end UHS-I card, and I was actually hitting close to the advertised 180MB/s read speeds. It moves large video files in seconds. The size is the main selling point—it is barely larger than the USB-C connector itself. It plugs right into my phone (with a case on!) and shows up instantly in the Files app. No drivers, no apps, just plug and play. It is almost too small. If you don't attach a lanyard or keep it in a specific pocket, you will lose it. The strap hole is also incredibly tiny, so good luck threading anything thicker than a piece of thread through it. It also can get a little warm during long transfers, but nothing concerning. It does exactly one thing and does it perfectly. It converts my microSD cards into a USB-C drive for my phone and MacBook. It feels a bit plastic-y, but for the price and performance, I really can't complain. It’s faster than some of my more expensive card readers. If you shoot on GoPro or drones and edit on a phone or tablet, just buy this. It’s cheap, fast, and works perfectly. If you are looking for a specific type of microSD card to pair with this reader (like one optimized for 4K video or Nintendo Switch), let me know and I can find the best value options for you.

Simple and Reliable USB-C MicroSD Reader
The Silicon Power USB Type-C MicroSD Card Reader is exactly what I was looking for. It’s a simple, compact reader that just works. It arrived quickly and was ready to use right out of the package. No setup required, just plug and go. I’ve used it with my iPhone, MacBook, and a Windows PC to review dash cam footage and transfer other files, and it has worked flawlessly across all devices. Connections feel solid and transfer speeds have been perfectly fine for my needs. If you want a straightforward USB-C microSD reader without unnecessary extras, this is a reliable and convenient option.

Works
Seems to be a decent value for a small micro-SD card reader. Have used maybe 20-40 times for writing data onto 3D printers. Sometimes I wish the thing was larger, that micro-SD cards were larger, but works. Have used on both MAC and PC systems, both work. But not surprise there. Just a USB-C converter to Micro-SD here. As long as it doesn't break, I'll be happy with the quality.

This is the one to get, but also it's probably a white label
Works great; fast, build quality seems excellent. Durability remains to be seen, but it didn't get hot with a multi-GB transfer of data files with a pixel 9 or an iphone 16. Seems to be a generic enough design; there are other sellers selling cosmetically identical items with similar model numbers (whatever200) if you want to shop around and maybe save a few bucks.

Very nice to have around!
I never knew I needed one of these usbc drives, it’s super nice to have especially if you want to transfer anything from your device to another. Feels very sturdy and holds in my ports pretty snug so no worries of it popping out easy. It does get pretty warm if you’re moving large files like I do but can’t be complaining for that price if it works!

Fast drive adapter - as fast as SD card can transfer data - the best small form factor USB-C to SD
True to it's specs, I'm getting 160MB/s read speeds, 100MB/s write speeds with my SanDisk 1TB Extreme microSDXC UHS-I Memory Card C10, U3, V30, 4K, A2, Micro SD - SDSQXA1-1T00-GN6MA. Significantly faster than competitors like UGREEN USB C Micro SD Card Reader, Type C to Micro SD Card Adapter with Zinc Alloy External (B08131PLHZ ) which claim 5GHz, but don't actually read the SD card that fast. Very compact and simple. SD card doesn't stick out as far as others, which is a nice feature. The benchmark compares this adapter to my high-end Thunderbolt Dock's built in high-speed SD card reader. (They are identical)

This is the one to get - fast transfers, never overheats, activity LED light not too bright
I've tried a few of these smaller microSD card readers and I haven't had any luck with any of them. One of them I'd plug into my phone and it would work for a little while, and then give out. Another one would work longer, but would get really hot to the touch. And then another I remember almost not working at all, sometimes I would plug it into my phone and it would get recognized, often it wouldn't. It's too bad this reader doesn't show first in the search results for usb-c micro SD card reader. I was about to buy another one but saw a review that said this is the one to get. It is absolutely the one to get. Transfers are very fast, and I've had it running for hours filling up hundreds of gigabytes in a 1TB card, and it only gets slightly warm to the touch. Granted I've only had it for a few days but I will update if anything changes. Is it perfect? No, I think the perfect reader like this would include a small, very durable lanyard to attach to the small hole at the end of the unit. Attached to the lanyard would be a snug fitting end cap over the memory card, and a second end cap covering the USB-C end. That way you could attach it to your keys and never worry about gunking it up with pocket link, and you would always have an extra terabyte or whatever with you when you need it. But it's definitely not worth deducting a star for something that works so well - functionally it has exceeded my expectations.

I haven’t run any CDM benchmarks but it seems plenty fast enough and I’ve been putting it through the paces with some large file transfers. I haven’t noticed any heat problems. There is a little play in the card slot so sometimes it does take a little adjustment to get the card seated. Very compact. Feels decently sturdy for something so light and plastic. Hopefully it holds up the rigors of gear pouch life.
