Defective CH341A
Similar to other customers and people online I had trouble reading and detecting my bios chip. It reads back garbage data everytime. I bought the older black CH341A model with the 1.8V adapter and it worked first try. Do not buy this CH341A.

Works just fine
I needed this for a PCB project where I needed to program some chips I got from China. I wanted to control my source code and did not want the PCB manufacturer having access to it. That is why I wanted to do it in-house. It did the job without giving me any issues, and the included adapters were a nice bonus. That said, I do wish they had packed it in an anti-static bag for a little extra protection though. Like a lot of modules these days, you’ll need to find documentation online to figure out exactly how to use it, but once you do, it’s pretty straightforward. Not an everyday tool, but when you need it, it’s worth having one on hand.

Good for writing single chips
I don't see a problem using this device with writing chips. I am not a huge chip programmer I got this for a one time use and we are still working on resolving some issues with our programming. For now, I don't see a problem writing chips and no problems for my application.
