Works with HomeAssistant
Works great with home assistant. Have it on the other side of my house to detect if someone comes up our driveway from the other side of the driveway!

Works with Home Assistant, good tunables and mounting hardware.
Setup with HomeAssistant, no issues there. Was able to pair with either the QR code or the search/pin method. The search/pin method worked better. It asked whether to join as a mesh unit (old z-wave) or the new "LR" mode. I used LR, worked fine. The good: - easy to pair with HA - tunable parameters are useful (motion sensitivity, light/temp reporting thresholds/frequency) - the option for battery or 12V dc is nice (I used the DC option, cutting off the end of an old 12v wall wart that no longer had a purpose). Couldn't find MA rating for the device in 12v mode but if two 3v batteries make it run at all, just about *any* 12v source will do the job even a very weak one. - the mounting hardware is good, thick rubber washer and compression fitting in the event you go for 12v like I did to keep the water away from the electrical contacts and from being pulled out easily. You do have to drill a tiny hole for whatever size wire you send into it. Initially this annoyed me but it's actually better, there's no telling what size 12v wire someone might come up with. The bad - Typical single button with non-atomic instructions to trigger inclusion/exclusion/factory-reset modes, most z-wave devices are like this. Mine "worked" but didn't go into the mode I expected at one point (again, typical). Expect lots of frustrated button pushing if you need to exclude/factory reset the device just like most z-wave stuff. - QR code sticker is on exterior of unit, which of course the weather will immediately destroy. Why not behind the weather proof back? I cannot fathom. There's a copy of it under the box lid, so keep the box lid for reference. If you don't and your Hub dies, you might have to think real hard about what the pin was or find a magnifying glass or forensics expert to read the rain/sun-bleached QR sticker on the side if it hasn't been chopped into a million pieces by your lawn mower after falling off into the grass. - The feedback LED to let you know the button worked is on the other side of the unit behind pretty thick plastic (e.g., you'll have to tinker with it in the dark if you need to see the light clearly). It's visible, barely. - How to remove the back is unclear - it screws off like a coke bottle, but it's pretty tight so... turn it, don't pop it off with a flathead like I did only to discover the threads. In my case no harm done, plastic was bendy enough to not break anything and it screwed right back on. I'd go to 5 stars if they fixed some of the design annoyances, but functionally the unit is pretty good so far. I see some reviews where these have failed, will update if this happens to mine. My experience is that electronics fail almost immediately (90 days) or virtually never, so if this review is over 3 months old it's probably still working and I forgot all about it.

Bought a second one
I own the zooz 29 outdoor sensor and it seems to work well, this is my second purchase of the 70 model. On the first sensor, the biggest issue is after I sync with smartthings (which was easy), when I screw on the back cover, it freezes because I get a tamper alert, I spent 3 days fighting the tamper freezing thing. The second sensor worked perfectly. Both sensors operate well. I also used this cover.—see link below. It protects the sensor from weather. It also keeps sun rays from triggering false alerts. You just need to cut about 20% off the back of the camera skin. Overall very happy with these sensors. https://www.amazon.com/kwmobile-Skin-Arlo-Ultra-Pro/dp/B07QKJVVS9/ref=mp_s_a_1_5_sspa?crid=1PZN4OO2UAZA3&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.l7ItRLMIA566XNTOdM7G95GVU8uuBk6ErAXoRmv4jXPEx83vSxJth4jduG5cC0VUn4qH_SGgr9zHNu-7q9h_OOo9_0_NuArO2-EFUStDy_FuGe1WrnTm91x_vL3n_xLqowAlg8oVDCE7wLrvKN61xrHMa8HsS07p8129eipDeejmBj8Dkc-mb19N9391n6Y__a9k-vbIV0wh_J6p-s-B7w.gyURSlv35FjMTurZD9N977Xg2jaaIWnkVqvSb4sn25w&dib_tag=se&keywords=arlo+essential+camera+skin+covers&qid=1735608689&sprefix=arlo+camera+skin%2Caps%2C97&sr=8-5-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfbXRm&psc=1

Good product. HORRIBLE company. Avoid.
This is priced higher than their web site, the smartest house, That company randomly flags people as fraudulent, so they must pay the higher pricing on Amazon. Go look at their Trust Pilot for more evidence on this. I've even emailed them directly showing I'm a loyal customer, even emailing their executive staff. The only reply from their help email is users flagged as fraudulent or who have 'returned things' can be banned. So avoid this company and avoid this brand and avoid this product. Don't believe me? Go to Trust Pilot and look.

Works great with Home Assistant but it does take some work to install
I recently purchased the Zooz Outdoor/Indoor Motion Sensor ZSE70, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. This sensor is a fantastic addition to my smart home setup, offering a range of features that enhance both security and convenience. The Z-Wave Long Range capability is a game-changer, providing an impressive 800 LR range that ensures reliable connectivity throughout my property. The motion detection is highly accurate. One thing to note is that the sensor requires "z-wave JS" for integration, but once set up, it works seamlessly with my existing system. Additionally, it's crucial to ensure that your RF region is set for USA long range to get setup correctly.

Short range detection - lots of nuissance trips
Was easy to get working with my Home Assistant Green and ZWA-2. But that's where the good stops. Product advertises 30 ft range. It's more like 15 ft, making it unfit for my purposes. It also nuisance trips a lot at default sensitivity.

This system has better range, features, and battery life than previous Z-wave motion detectors
Why did you pick this product vs others?: It has better Z-wave range and a better battery system than previous motion detectors. It also offers the option of AC power via USB connector. It is quite sensitive to motion so outdoor placement is key as a windy day can run the batteries down. The additional sensing features are a nice plus.

Command tape mounting brackets
A customer has decided to move from Hue to Zooz. Designed and printed him a few of these corner mounts using Command tape. Worked out well. The only complaint I have is the battery cover. Holy smokes it's hard to remove? Took a lot of muscle to turn that thing to access the batteries.

Works well with Homey pro (eu) but could not include secure. I had to include without secure mode, insert 00000 instead of pin.

I had to download the Zooz app to my Homey Pro hub but it works just fine.

Funktioniert super mit der Nabu Casa Z-Wave Antenne und Homeassistant.

I've just discovered the motion sensor supplied Is a Z wave plus model and not Z wave Long range as stated. Sadly its passed my returns window.

Got this motion sensor a couple months ago and overall it's been working well. The detection is pretty accurate and triggers reliably when someone walks by. I initially wanted to use the 800 LR Z-Wave long range feature but couldn't get it to pair properly with my Home Assistant setup. After messing around with it for a while I just switched to regular Z-Wave mode and it connected fine. Maybe it's a configuration thing on my end but regular Z-Wave works good enough for where I have it installed anyway. Currently running it on battery power since I don't have an easy way to route a cable to where it's mounted outside. Battery life seems decent so far but I'll see how long it actually lasts through the winter. Would be nice to have it hardwired eventually but for now battery is fine. Setup with Z-Wave JS was straightforward once I figured out the regular Z-Wave pairing instead of LR. The sensor itself feels pretty solid and weatherproof which is important since it's outdoors. Does what it's supposed to do for motion detection. If you can get the 800 LR working that's probably a bonus but regular Z-Wave has been reliable enough for my needs. Good product overall just didn't work out exactly as I planned with the long range feature.
