I Loved My Breville. Then My Laziness Evolved...
I bought the De’Longhi Magnifica Plus as a transition away from the Breville Barista Express, which I genuinely loved. Some enthusiasts would argue the Breville makes better espresso and honestly that may be true. It also required daily effort, frequent cleaning, and emotional availability. Eventually, my laziness reached its final form and I chose convenience without sacrificing quality. This machine heats up in about 30 seconds, makes strong, consistently great espresso, and gets used multiple times a day. The UI is incredibly simple. No fiddling, no rituals, no drama. Press a button, get excellent espresso. The milk frothing is smooth and reliable, and the cleaning effort is almost suspiciously low. It automatically rinses itself on startup and shutdown (just make sure the drip tray is in place). About once a week, I rinse the brew group under water and pop it back in. When it tells me to descale, I descale it. Total maintenance time is maybe 5 minutes per week. For comparison, my Breville took about 5 minutes of cleaning per day, plus another 3–5 minutes per drink. I loved the coffee. I simply chose not to be an unpaid barista. Pros: - Practically self-cleaning - Very simple, intuitive UI - Strong, consistent, great-tasting espresso - Heats up fast (~30 seconds) - Excellent milk frothing - Tons of drink options - Doppio+ mode = a very strong shot (~18g) Cons: - Bean hopper could use a gasket seal - Build quality isn’t ultra-premium At this price, it’s an easy recommendation. If you want great espresso and have accepted that convenience is now a core value, this machine is a no-brainer. I loved my Breville. I just love not working for my coffee more. Five stars!

Love this machine and the coffee
My Philips 4300 machine sprung a leak after 4 1/2 years. By far the DeLonghi Magnifica Plus is a superior machine. Larger pods means better coffee. Machine feels more solid and of a higher build quality. The best part is how clean running this machine is and how easy it is to clean as compared to the Philips. Down side is the water tank could be bigger, makes great foamed milk but requires you to stop the process when you get the amount you want. Hoping I get more than 4 1/2 years out of this but could not be happier with an automated coffee machine. Highly recommend!

Great brew but horrible quality.
So, it made a great coffee. The cappuccino was excellent. Plain coffee was fantastic. The grinder functioned well. It was fast and made a great cup. But…. Less than 6 months in and it doesn’t do any of that. It started sporadically not recognizing the milk frother cleaning setting and the water spout. I contacted delonghi which was a struggle itself, but by time I was able to send all the info and videos they requested, it had become a constant issue. They eventually sent a box for return shipping for repairs. Two weeks later I get a machine back that I can’t even prime because it didn’t recognize the water spout to initialize the machine. So another email to delonghi. Another video. And they have decided to send me a water spout….. ? I read hundreds of reviews and watched hours of Tom’s coffee corner before deciding on this one. But the owner reviews where people said it was awesome, but only when it worked, were spot on. For a thousand dollars, I expected more. Go with a better and more reputable brand. The value and quality isn’t there.

My first 'superautomatic' and couldn't be happier with it
I love coffee but have always used a simple drip machine at home. I recently made the decision to invest in a fully-automated espresso machine, a superautomatic as I’ve learned they are called, just to see what I was missing out on. I gave myself a budget of $1000, which is 10x what my current drip coffee maker cost. After doing lots of research I settled on the Delonghi Magnifica Plus. (It was on sale for $999 for Black Friday.) The reasons: it came highly recommended in user forums, was getting great reviews by coffee experts, and had all the features that people complained about not having in less expensive models (easy to maintain, fully configurable, chute for ground coffee, etc.) If you look at the reviews here, you’ll notice that most of the complaints are about the cheaper models (Start, Evo) and not the Plus. The bottom line: I absolutely love it! It look me a bit of experimenting, but I eventually found the right grind/shot strength/water amount/temperature to always get my perfect cup of coffee. (I drink Americanos.) I do rely on the ability to personalize all the settings and can see how it would be frustrating not to be able to do so with a cheaper model. I haven’t used the milk attachment, but I like knowing that it’s there in case I want to experiment. The UI is well designed and it’s easy to use. The only downside is that it’s so easy to make an amazing cup of coffee that it’s hard not to drink more than I should. Another downside is that I’ve stopped going to my favorite coffee shop as often, as I can now get an arguably better cup of coffee at home. I hadn’t considered this when I first bought it, but the machine will actually pay for itself within a year.

I couldn’t be happier with my De’Longhi Magnifica Plus. From the first cup, it was clear this machine is on another level compared to anything I’ve owned before. The espresso is rich, smooth, and perfectly extracted every time, with a beautiful crema that rivals what I get at my favorite café. The built in grinder makes a huge difference. Freshly ground beans completely elevate the flavor, and the grind settings let you fine tune the taste exactly how you like it. I also love how customizable the drink options are strength, temperature, and volume are all adjustable, so it feels like the machine is tailored to you. The milk frothing system is fantastic. It produces creamy, velvety foam for cappuccinos and lattes with almost no effort. Clean up is surprisingly easy too, which is a big plus for a fully automatic machine. The intuitive controls and clear display make it simple to use right out of the box. What really stands out is the consistency. Every morning I get the same great result without guessing or tinkering. It’s fast, quiet, and feels solid and well built. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. This machine has completely changed my home coffee routine and has already paid for itself in café trips I no longer make. Highly recommend

Gracias.

I moved up from a Breville Barista espresso to DeLighi Magnifica Plus. At first it took us a few days to program every drink to our taste but we have grown to love it over the past few weeks that we have had it. No longer do we need to measure our coffee manually for a variety of coffee drinks because once this machine was programmed to our individual tastes it is a matter of selecting from the menu and one touch gets the whole thing done. Getting the ground level to your exact taste can take a while as you have to make adjustments while the machine is grinding and it can take up to 3 drinks before you can taste the exact grind however once it is done all you have to do is to program the intensity of various drinks and save it . What we also love about it is that you can also use GROUND COFFEE via a separate hopper which is great for occasions when you either have no beans left or your guests prefer ground coffee. The other feature that we also like a lot is that we can override pre programming of drinks altogether and use the "my" feature to make any of the drink in the menu which makes it function like a regular manually operated barista machine. All and all a FIVE STAR.
