Tastes great!
This is great for recipes with salmon. You don't have to pick through it for "bones" and other junk. This is quality salmon.

So delicious and versatile
We purchased this salmon to make patties and salmon salad. It is delicious! The quality is clear to see when you open the container, which is easy to pull. The amount of water in the ca is just enough to have the salmon be very moist. The texture is “crumbly” and soft making it easy to separate. The size of the can is just right to make salmon salad for wraps, pits, buns or bread for 2. The protein content is enough as well! We will continue to buy Wild Planet!

Good price for canned wild Alaskan sockeye salmon with the EFAs we need
I am now reviewing Wild Planet sockeye salmon, wild caught in Alaska, in 6 ounce cans. Canned fish is not the same as fresh fish, to be sure, but if you allow for that, this salmon tastes pretty good. It is seasoned with sea salt, so some may need to consider the sodium content. I have read that transfats are unhealthy, and it has zero transfats. It comes in a can with an easy open lid. I pull the ring, and it opens. This is a good price for canned wild-caught Alaskan sockeye salmon. It is $4.99 per 6 ounce can as of 9-12-25. I like salmon, and it is a wonderful convenience now and then to have canned salmon in the pantry when I don't feel like cooking. I have ordered several 12-can packages in the last few years, and as far as I recall, I have found no bones. I am taking off one star because the salmon in the six-ounce can does not weigh six ounces. The can usually contains 4.5 ounces of salmon according to my scale, although possibly my scale could be wrong. The rest of the can contains broth. I was initially disappointed because I had expected to receive 6 ounces of salmon in a 6-ounce can of salmon. Nonetheless, I was happy to find this product at this price, and I stocked up while the price was below $5.00 per can. Eating salmon is a good way to get essential fatty acids (EFAs), such as Omega 3s. I have read that EFAs are essential nutrients we do not produce in our bodies, so we need to get them from food or from supplements for good health. When planning to eat any kind of fish, I believe it is wise before purchasing to check online for the mercury content generally found in that specific kind of fish. Most fish contain mercury, but some fish contain lower levels and some fish contain higher levels. Mercury is considered toxic, yet it is also said that lower levels may be acceptable to ingest, so this seems unclear. One needs to make difficult decisons to eat in a healthy way. Salmon contains a lower content of mercury than most (but not all) other fish. For instance, tuna generally contains a higher content of mercury than salmon. I suggest looking up online the mercury content for the fish you want to eat and for the mercury content believed to be safe, and working out how much mercury you believe is a safe level to eat each week, and then being sure you stay below that level in your weekly fish consumption. I recall the U.S. Surgeon General saying some years ago that eating salmon has so many health benefits because of is essential fatty acids that, despite its mercury content, eating salmon is better for our health than not eating salmon. (Exception: pregnant women are advised not to eat fish.) Because of the risk of mercury toxicity, I think it is wise to inform ourselves of the mercury content of fish we wish to eat, and to limit our intake of fish. That is not exactly easy to do, since I have read that the amount of mercury in any kind of fish is an average amount and might be more or less in any particular case. In my opinion it is a tricky decision that I am not 100% comfortable with, since it can have health consequences. Guys, reviews should not need to contain cautions like this when it comes to our precious food supply. I apologize for feeling the need to include them, but I think it would be wrong to omit them. I like this salmon, it has not had bones, the price has at times been okay for me, it is convenient to have available, and I'm getting my needed EFAs, but is this the right decision? I'm not sure.

Good salmon ready to enjoy
This brand salmon has alot going for it. Other reviews tell of a canned salmon that looks tastes smells and is a good all around canned salmon. I really enjoy this product and concur that for a canned product (I don't normally enjoy canned anything) it is top of the list. It's packed in it's own juice has a firm texture and looks good in can and on plate. The 6oz can serves me 1 1/2 to 2 full portions and the convenience of sockeye salmon anytime is great. Salt is 200mg per serving (2 servings per can). BBE is about 1yr. smell is not objectionable.

Excellent product. Price fluctuates too much.
This salmon is delicious and is superior to canned pink salmon I have had. The price fluctuates widely. I have seen it go up and down by $10 in the course of one day on Amazon. Nevertheless, it is a superior product.

Tastes Great and Healthy
Good price and tastes great. Way more healthy than tuna. My wife thought it was tuna and made a tuna sandwich and it is not recommended. Stick with eating it out of the can or making salmon patties.
