Wow! Ok, I admit it’s a bit pricey, so the best way to purchase is in a bundle. It is rather large, but so was the Cat Genie I used to have.I used Dr. Elsey’s Ultra unscented litter, which works great with the machine. I love this machine. It only takes 2 minutes to dump the clumps and leave my kitties with fresh litter. My old machine took 15 minutes to clean and dry the litter. I bought this because I was having rotator cuff surgery and didn’t want to have to scoop litter every day with my less dominant hand/shoulder. This works like a dream. I monitor my two kitties usage with the app. The App also allows me to view their weight, the level of the litter and the waste so I know exactly when to dump it or att fresh litter. I later purchased the extended warranty so it’s covered for 3 years. I’m happy and so are my cats. UPDATE 10/8/25: Ok, so I bought this unit so I wouldn’t have to worry about the litter changing due to extensive rotator cuff surgery. While it did what it was supposed to do…one of my kitties refused to use it. It has taken me 5 months to get her to use it. I tried all the Litter robot instructions for acclimation; litter box attractant powder; Dr. Elsey’s attractant litter, and finally cat calming pheromone spray. This kitty refused and would pee everywhere (bed included) except the litter box. Yes, I had the old litter box next to the new one, but finally, just let it get foul and refused to change it to force her. Finally, I started spraying the pheromone spray, and putting her in the litter robot for two minutes while giving her effusive praise, petting her… and a treat after I let her out. Last week, she started using the robot in her own and I was able to get rid of the old box. So, don’t give up! I went to some lengths because I will be living a nomadic lifestyle in a converted shuttle bus for awhile, and I needed this investment to work for them as they are going with me. I LOVE that I can monitor their (2 kitties) weight and usage, my house smells clean, there are NO accidents outside the box (I.e. peeing over the edge), the mat collects any leftover litter on their paws so there is less tracking, and the thing is so silent as it operates. Yes, it was expensive, but my babies and I are worth it. I bought it as much for me as for my kitties.

For a $700+ litter box I had high expectations and read a lot of reviews of the different automatic litter box options before purchasing. After owning it for a month, here are a few things I didn’t see stated as often in reviews that I wanted to share: - the angle and wider opening of the barrel than PetKit or some other more enclosed options makes this much easier/faster to clean in my opinion - the space inside the LR is actually smaller than it appears, and it’s technically smaller than other barrel-style options like PetKit - if you have a larger cat, they may perch on the edge of the fence and hit the fence when they ‘go’ so you may want to consider a different automatic litter box with a larger interior - it does come fully assembled and was simple to set up, but the box and the LR itself are huge so you need to measure the space for it before ordering - I like how the angle of the barrel and the clear line on the interior allows for easy litter refill - even with the fence, my cat makes more of a mess with scattered litter in her aggressive burying than the previous Amazon knock-off of PetKit we had, so buy the (very nice) mat if you’re considering it - love the app and simple button interface - the built in night light is a great touch - with the carbon filter added I never smell anything, even when the container is nearly full - you can use generic mini trash bags if you want to - it took my cat a week to warm up to it, and even though it’s not the ‘cave’ feel she likes from a tighter barrel, it doesn’t cause residue on her fur like the old one did which alone is worth the price tag - you’ll need to play with the cycle delay settings and type of litter to avoid clumps sticking, but like I said it’s much easier to wipe down than other auto litter boxes if you notice unusual clumping - it pauses immediately mid-cycle when it detects movement, so it’s very sensitive if you have a curious cat who comes back when they hear the LR activate I got the bundle during a sale, so to me it was worth trying for the reduced price tag, plus I appreciate that it’s an American company. We’ll have to see if the customer service and quality over time match other reviews.

This litter cleaning machine is by far the best machine out the there. It literally is self- cleaning and what it doesn’t catch is dry easy to clean. Yes it’s expensive, but it’s worth every penny. You do have to e careful about what type of litter you use.

I have had this Litter Robot for 6 months now, and absolutely NO problems! I was skeptical at first because of what people think can happen with an automatic litter box and cats, but nothing even remotely troubling has happened. I love the Whisker app, it’s very easy to use, and honestly very easy to set up. I highly recommend for anyone who has multiple cats or believes they will always have a cat in their life. I have 2 cats and one of them is pretty skiddish but she was the first one to check it out and use it!! I was honestly surprised, but it does not make much noise other than the litter shifting and waste moving into the waste drawer. I am so happy with having a way to monitor their usage and even their weight! It’s pretty easy to clean, there is a weighted sensor in the drum so it can be a little tricky to clean that area with it dropping down when it is cycled, but maybe it takes me 3 minutes tops to clean?

The product works incredibly. Built sturdy, to last. Senses my cats well. My only complaint is the internal size. It can feel cramped for my felines which are average sized domestic short hairs. I know they’ve increased the diameter in the newer Litter Robot 5 l, which means I must not have been the only one conveying this. Would highly recommend if you have small to medium sized cats.
