Excellent for broken ankle
I recently fell down a flight of stairs and broke my ankle and a couple fingers. While preparing for surgery, I searched Amazon for anything that might help while I spend 6 weeks non-weightbearing. I quickly found that getting up was a challenge unless I had something tall to push myself up with. I also live alone so it was important for me to be able to get around my home without assistance. I can more or less only use one hand and one leg so it was an extra challenge!! This looked like it could do the trick and it sure has!! I'm so happy I tried it. I bring it in the bathroom when I shower, and the rest of the time it sits next to my armchair where I'm spending 99.5% of my life. (If I wasn't unemployed due to covid I'd probably buy a few extras, but I can make do with one). Makes getting up sooooo much easier and safer than just using the arms of the chair. The extra height really helps. (The picture shows the height of this compared to my arm chair and the kitchen table next to it.) It definitely is more for pushing than pulling. It's reasonably steady/stable when pushing. I found it can tilt a bit so I tilt it before trying to stand up, so I'm not surprised by any sudden movements.

Very Sturdy
Super easy to put together. Very sturdy and will fit in the small space near the toilet to allow my mom to transition from her wheelchair without installing bars on my wall. And be able to easily move to couch to help her transition there. Also will be able to remove from bathroom when not needed so I don't have those toilet ones that are attached and always there.

Helpful - but use with caution.
I need help getting into and out of bed. Got an electric bed for Christmas. Needed an assist device that didn't need to go under the mattress. I need to be careful because it isn't anchored to anything, But once I figured out where to grab it works. If I could anchor it, it wouldn't be portable. I'm thinking through this - a portable rise bar? How does someone who needs help move this device from one place to another? I bought two.

Completely disappointed
This product was horrible to assemble, mostly because the nuts do not fit the bolts. nor did the enclosed "wrench" fir the nuts! After hours of putting it together "well enough" I discovered it does not function for the purpose I need. It does not help me stand from a seated position, if I place it directly in front of me--I could not pull myself up using it. I suppose if I had two and could place them on either side of me to lift myself up with my arms it might work, but since it was SO HARD to put together, I'm not purchasing another one. I guess, make sure it will serve your purpose before you buy it. And make sure you have power tools in order to assemble yourself.

Helpful and convenient
The stand assist is very easy to assemble and provides that extra help I need to get out of a chair or any situation from sitting to standing. It doesn’t take up a lot of room, and is lightweight to move around. I ended up buying a second one because I found it so helpful and convenient.

Great helper for getting up from seated postion
When I read some other reviews about it being unstruy and hard to assemble, I almost didn't purchase it. but i have got to say they are wrong, it was very easy to assemble, and the wife finds it to be very stable
