B60N505 Deadbolt, Keyed 1 Side, Bright Brass

I have to say...that I much prefer the basic easy to use and re-pin deadbolts to the newer SecureKey lock systems. I have only had trouble with Schlage SecureKey products. I have already ranted about it in a comment to another review of this actual product, so I will leave it at that. I got this unit and had it re-keyed in 15 minutes and it only took that long because I proceeded with extreme caution being a somewhat novice at the process. I do have a Schlage rekey kit and have done a few units before this one, so it is not a job that can be easily accomplished without the proper tools. Anyhow, I managed to replace yet another failed Schlage SecureKey unit with this one. I am done trying to work with those. Rekey in seconds! - the package exclaims, yeah, after you hunt all over town for a service that uses the old method of making the rekey unit out of the blank they provide. And I too am wondering at the earlier review that awarded only 3 stars because the reviewer thought this was a SecureKey product. I noticed no such reference, but I guess it could have been removed in the short period between, or maybe I just missed entirely...you never know... I am very happy with it and it was great that I could have it within 24 hours with minimal cost as it was available on a prime basis. Very happy indeed.

Easy to install and great quality for replacement for old lock

Schlage is so dependable, always has been. It just gets better with time as technology advances the conveniences. It is my lock of choice and I highly recommend. Also, very easy to rekey.

This deadbolt lock is well-constructed and should provide the security you want. I really liked the addition of extra long fastening screws for the jamb piece. Those screws penetrating the door frame, along with having an oak jamb, will make my door very resistant to forced entry. The buyer should be aware that the two bolts that hold the halves of the lock together are too long for inch and 3/8 thick doors. This required that I cut a quarter inch off the end of each bolt. Not a big job, but that shouldn't be necessary and it is something I have never encountered before. The polished brash looks nice on a chestnut stained door. All in all, a good lock that I would be comfortable purchasing again.

Decent quality. Beware when installing, the screws may interfere with the lock lever, so make sure the indoor side's lever is spun the right way to allow the screws to clear it.

Top of the line deadbolt for most applications. As a locksmith, I recommend using Grade 1 locks because I sell security. Saving a few dollars is foolish when it comes to security. I use only Schlage deadbolts and recommend this product.

You can spend almost the same amount of money if you pay a locksmith. They bring an inferior brand and add a surcharge. Do what I did .... get this brand/model. I did my research and these are rated very highly in terms of being secure. When I lock my doors at night, I hear a nice "thap" sound. Solid equipment, moves nicely. WORTH IT. Update: still loving my new locks. I did pay a locksmith to install them, but it was still a significant savings to buy my own top grade locks vs. paying a tiny bit less and having the locksmith bring extremely inferior (easy for a burglar to break) locks. See the ad for the "grade" level and look into it. These are A+++ quality meant for a business, but looks nice on a house. A very good price given that fact.

I was happy to find a deadbolt that would fit my door with a 1 5/8 bore hole, but this one did...there is a ring that removes from the back if your bore hole is smaller than the standard.

We needed a 2 sides keyed lock and this one does a good job. Happy with the choice we made. We've only had it for one month, so cannot say anything about durability. If anything changes, I'll come back to my initial review.

A+ all around Quality is very nice! Building it and all the instructions are super clear! Adjustable for both types of entries (I think ours was 1.5 so had to remove 1 plate) super easy Works like magic! AA++++

We needed a gold (or bright brass) coloured bolt to match our door handle. The finishing was smooth and we like the size and weighted feeling of the bolt. The item seems to be of good quality. We have just installed it for two months and so far so good. Hopefully the product will last.

Perfect replacement had to make some minor adjustments to the dead bolt hole due to the fact the cylinder is a bit bigger than the old one but it works just right.Very smooth operation
