You need to get these!
You know I kinda hate to admit this but the infrastructure in my area is in decline. The power goes out more than ever and we are literally so connected now that many times a a day I think I would rather have internet than water! With this and as we get older we have decided to have a generator installed at our house. Last summer our electricity went out in June. Louisiana heat in June is no joke. Pushing 60 is also no joke. Pushing 60 with 104 heat index may make you not see 61. My wife and I fled to another city. My sister and her husband stayed in their home.... for three days with no electric. It's one of those things. You always feel like it'll come back on in another hour... or by dark, by midnight... first thing in the morning. By the time three days went by my poor sister would have been in tears but she was so dehydrated she couldn't cry. (yes she could have come to Dallas with us but they declined) Everyone affected had every bit of perishable food ruined. So after days with no electric... once it comes on the grocery stores also had no power... then it took a few days after power for them to get deliveries and then the stores were gutted for a solid week. The whole ordeal from power outage to power on to throwing out food to purchasing new food to back to normal was no kidding two weeks. It was awful and I wasn't even here. We fled. We are very fortunate to have another home in another state. All our food was ruined but we purchased food locally at our other home in Texas and just brought it back in coolers. I say all that to say this. I purchased three of these Amazon UPS systems for our home. We are having a whole home generator installed. These power our modem our router and three of our Amazon EERO modules throughout our home. In the past as soon as the power goes out it's internet out. Now with these installed the power to those items goes through the battery. When the power goes out the things plugged in continue to work until the battery dies. I tested this. I have ATT fiber internet. I use Amazon EERO (which are amazing by the way) for my router with three additional modules for mesh coverage. My testing concluded that with just these items on the battery the Amazon UPS will give you about 1:45 before the battery dies and you now have no internet. It takes our new generator about 1 minute to sense a power outage, start and then put power back to the house. In this case our internet will never go down. In the past even with a split second surge it would take about 5 minutes for everything to come back online. These eliminate that. These are a very inexpensive way to give you a moment to close out what your working on and properly shut down whatever is plugged into it. Simple plug and play install. I highly recommend.

Communicates well with QNAP TS-230 NAS file server
I just received this UPS, so I can't comment on battery life. I got the 800VA/450W, 12 Outlets. It uses a 12V 9Ah battery that is very common and inexpensive, so when the original battery dies, it should be easy to find a replacement. I love that it has so many outlets, 6 with battery backup and 6 with only surge protection. I have many electronics connected, and this avoids using additional power strips. The main purpose of buying this UPS was to protect my QNAP TS-230 NAS during power outage. This is an entry level two bays file server. I wasn't sure if it would support communication with UPS backup battery. The QNAP manual for this model does not mention anything about connecting to UPS. I received the UPS and charged it overnight before connecting anything to it. It came with a USB A to B cable. The QNAP TS-230 has 3 USB ports: one is USB 2.0 speed and two are USB 3.0 speed. The USB 3.0 are designed for external drives to expand the capacity of the file server, so I figured I should connect the USB cable from the UPS to the USB 2.0 port on the back of QNAP. I turned the UPS on, waited a few seconds for it to come online and plugged the QNAP to one of the battery backup outlets. Next I turned on the QNAP. It takes about 5 minutes to boot. When I heard the second beep that indicates it's ready, I logged in into the QNAP from my computer. After a few seconds, a window appeared that an external device (CPS ABST800) was detected. I clicked on "View external storage settings" and it brought me to Control Panel>External Device>UPS. Here it showed the UPS manufacturer (CPS), the model (ABST800), the battery capacity and the estimated protection time. On this screen you can configure what the QNAP should do in case of power outage. I set it to turn off the NAS after 3 minutes of power outage. Next tested the setup: I unplugged the UPS from the wall. It started beeping every few seconds to indicate that it's running on battery. After 3 minutes on battery power, the NAS started an orderly shutdown process. After a few minutes, it shutdown completely. Perfect! As someone else mentioned, this UPS is manufactured by CyberPower, which is ubiquitous. This is an advantage in my opinion, because more clients are likely to support it than a smaller brand. For anyone that owns a QNAP NAS and is debating whether this UPS will work with it, it probably will.

Great value, does exactly what is needed, why pay for what you do not need?
Very reasonable price and works great. Setup was easy to and took just 1-2 minutes. I only needed four outlet plug ins, and this unit has plenty of protected access without paying extra for features I didn’t need. Saved about $50 compared to other options and performance has been solid so far. If you’re looking for a simple, reliable Battery Backup & Surge Protector without overkill, this is a great choice. Buy one and see!

False Advertising for the "AmazonBasics, $75,000 Connected Equipment Guarantee" - What a Joke
We installed a WiFi network at my place of business and were looking for multiple UPS's for each of our switches and WiFi Access Points. When looking for what device would work best I came across this Amazon Branded piece of equipment. The price was fair and I really like their, "Backed by an AmazonBasics limited 1-year warranty, including the battery; $75,000 connected equipment guarantee" - the last bullet in the description. This warranty is a joke. We had a power surge in our building and most of the UPS's worked as intended, however there was 1 that did not. All the equipment connected to it was fried after the surge and no longer works. Over $900.00 of equipment was destroyed (all of which was ordered from Amazon). I just wanted a credit I could, gift card, something! I had serial numbers and images of the equipment and everything. I immediately contacted customer support and told them that I wanted to submit an issue/claim under the "Backed by an AmazonBasics limited 1-year warranty, including the battery; $75,000 connected equipment guarantee." I had to continue to reach back out to Amazon Customer Support 3+ times, each time they told me someone would follow up with me within the next 3-5 business days on my warranty claim. I spent a total of 4-5 hours (spread out over multiple days) of my time emailing, chatting over the phone, sending pictures, chatting online and still nothing has happened. I have continually been ignored and have been given false promises of, "I will PERSONALLY call you back on (x) date to follow up with you on this issue." Then, after no phone call or follow-up, I would email them back, only to have a different person respond and tell me to call Amazon Customer Support (which means I would start from scratch and have to tell my story all over again and go through the same steps). The continuous false promises and disregard (whether intentional or not) is beyond frustrating - especially when you buy the device because of the warranty that is promised. I am a regular user of Amazon services, but I'm very disappointed with the way this situation was handled and I feel that I have wasted my time and have been ignored multiple times. Not a product I would recommend buying.

Good unit
Unit is working as designed. The only reason I did not give a 5 stars because it is hard to find a link to the monitoring software. Which is in the User Guide pdf, not in the main description

good if you need protection against power outages for a short period of time
i built a PC and i work from home, staying connected to the internet at all times is very important fore me. more importantly is making sure that my PC stays on and does not randomly shut off at any moment, causing me to lose all unsaved work this product helps protect against that from happening unlike a laptop that has a built in battery, a PC does not, so if your home power goes out, that's it. it's game over. your entire PC shuts down with your power, no running off battery, no nothing however, if you plug your PC into this product, then if your power goes out, you're pretty much safe. at least for 5-10 minutes just today i was working and then randomly the electricity went out in my apartment. all my appliances shut off around me. this doesn't happen often, maybe like once a year. when this did happen, my computer was still running and i was still connected to the internet. everything was shutting off around me, yet i was still able to continue working on my PC as if nothing was happening a couple of minutes go by, and the electricity turns back on. i didn't even notice it was gone because i was so focused on work not only does this keep my PC powered on during outages, my internet stays on too. i didn't lose internet at all, everything was continuing to run smoothly as i've mentioned before though, this power only lasts about 5-10 minutes if you've got a PC plugged in. the PC draws quite a bit of power, so this back up battery can't last much long. but the point of me using this in the first place is so that if power gets interrupted, i have a back up that can bridge the gap. the outages i get last only a couple of minutes. i just need protection during that random abrupt hit, i don't need protection for hours this product has served me well

Reliable and Affordable UPS for Basic Power Backup Needs
I recently purchased the Amazon Basics Standby UPS 400VA 255W Surge Protector Battery Power Backup to protect my home office equipment from power interruptions. It has kept my computer and modem running smoothly during several short power cuts, giving me enough time to save my work and shut down properly. **Surge Protection**: With built-in surge protection, this UPS safeguards my equipment from power surges and spikes. This adds an extra layer of protection, ensuring my devices remain safe from electrical damage. **Compact and Lightweight**: The unit is compact and lightweight, making it easy to place on or under my desk without taking up much space. Its small footprint is perfect for home offices or small setups. - **Easy Setup**: Setting up the UPS was straightforward. The clear instructions made it simple to connect my devices, and the battery came pre-installed, so it was ready to use right out of the box. **Affordable Price**: Compared to other UPS units on the market, the Amazon Basics Standby UPS is very affordable. It provides reliable performance at a fraction of the cost of more expensive models, making it a great value for money. **Quiet Operation**: The UPS operates quietly, which is important for maintaining a peaceful work environment. I barely notice any noise, even when it switches to battery mode. **Cons:** **Limited Power Capacity**: With a capacity of 400VA/255W, this UPS is suitable for basic setups but may not be sufficient for high-power devices or larger configurations. It’s best for protecting a single computer and a few peripherals. **Short Battery Run Time**: The battery run time is relatively short, lasting about 5-10 minutes during an outage. While this is enough to save work and shut down properly, it may not be sufficient for extended power cuts. Overall, the Amazon Basics Standby UPS 400VA 255W Surge Protector Battery Power Backup is a reliable and affordable solution for basic power backup needs. Its compact size, ease of use, and effective surge protection make it a great choice for home offices or small setups. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an economical and dependable UPS for their essential devices. I will buy this product again.
