Colgin Liquid Smoke, 16 Fl Oz (Pack of 6)

Excellent flavor

I like using liquid smoke regularly with meats and vegetables, but the little containers sold at grocery stores are more expensive so I look for larger volumes at a little lower cost like this.

I've tried other brands, but Colgin seems to deliver the most body without bitterness or off-flavors. Since I'm a single, retired guy living in an apartment and no longer have access to a smoker, I've come to depend on Colgin to bring me the smoky enhancements I've enjoyed all my life. Here's an example: Too Easy Smoked Chicken. Put a couple thighs or a leg quarter in a sauce pan, cover with water, add a teaspoon or so of chicken bullion, some black pepper, a big pinch of poultry seasoning and a quarter cup, more or less, of Colgin Liquid Smoke; simmer for 40-60 minutes. Tastes just like moist-smoked chicken (never cared for dry process smoking, except for jerky). I save the liquid in the freezer to reuse. After several uses, I pull the frozen fat off (and save it in a jar in the fridge to use in cooking). The liquid, after re-warming, will chill to a smoky chicken aspic, good by itself or for flavoring other dishes. Dang! Now I'm hungry.

There is no reason to have so much water in liquid smoke. Waste of water, shipping, packaging, etc. stop destroying the planet to make it look like more product than is actually there.
