The best safe that is not a safe...
Ok, this "safebox" (the manufacture's term, not mine) is not a safe in the traditional sense. But for the sake of the review, I will call it a safe. This safe saved me $1,400.00. How? I was ready to pull the trigger on a Hollon PM 1014C - TL15 safe (I mean that IS a real safe as it weighs 450lbs and has concrete poured inner walls and is TL rated to survive an attack by a trained (not a smash grab) burglar for 15 minutes with all the tools at his disposal). It's probably worth all its $1,600 dollar asking price and is everything this FORFEND Safe is not. The FORFEND safe is 38lbs and can most likely be cut into in matter of minutes with a saw. A dozen good whacks or so with a sledgehammer and most likely you're in? So, you may be wondering why I opted for this over the Hollon. It's all about layers of security. And this little guy adds to it in spades: The ability to notify me via the app that it's been touched (moved) is amazing. The built-in sensitivity trigger alarm works great. It tells me if there was an attempt to open and I can lock it down remotely with a tap of the screen on my phone (only to buy the few extra minutes to respond or call the police). It can be a "dumb" safe too and just open with a code or fingerprint (which works amazingly well) or it can be a smart safe and do all the features that made me buy this. I'd rather be notified that my safe is being attacked (or pried from the floor as I currently have it anchored) then not being notified with a "dumb" TL-15 safe, that while, in its weight and construction, may be a deterrent to the smash and grab robber, the more exercised one can and will eventually get into. Remember layers? I have this safe behind a secure door (tied to my home alarm) in my office closet with that door under surveillance from my Google Nest camera (on a separate power source with a backup battery) all tied to my SimpliSafe alarm and Google Home system behind two doors that have doorbell cameras with motion activated lights around the house. The fact I can open it remotely via the app or using "Hey Google...open safe" and Google will ask me for the passcode and unlock while at home is cool too. Some have complained it's hard to set up the WIFI/app/connectivity part. It can be daunting but just follow the instructions, play the videos (pause them when needed is key) and in about 10 minutes you'll be up and running. A few call outs to save you some time and headaches: 1. If you opt to use the smart features don't waste your time setting up the keypad or fingerprint reader as setting up the WIFI will cancel out that information and you will have to reset it up AFTER you do the optional WIFI setup. If you don't plan on using the WIFI just set it up the keypad and reader and be done. 2. The included gateway that connects to the safe and bridges to your home WIFI network is cheap feeling in hand but works fine. My only concern was...do I want a foreign gateway on my home WIFI network that I have no idea what it's keeping track of and or monitoring data wise? Think of TikTok. So, I have it connected to a separate wireless network I don't use anything else on but this gateway. It's the only device on that network. Maybe I'm too over cautious but it is what it is. I will/may one day splurge and get the Hollon safe but the $200 this cost me is more than fine for now. It came packaged well and is decent for a "safebox" but it's great with its smart features. Oh yeah and the app is pretty good too. Easy to use, responsive and no monthly or any additional cost to use.

A Feature-Packed and Reliable Smart Safe
I live in a company dorm where there are many people coming and going, so I’ve always worried about keeping my valuables safe. That’s why I bought this FORFEND WiFi Smart Safe, and after using it for a while, I’m really satisfied. I keep my gold, silver coins, cash, and important documents inside, and it gives me real peace of mind. The biggest advantage is that there are no extra fees—no subscription, no monthly charges, and all the features are permanently free. It’s very affordable and ready to use right out of the box. The remote control feature is extremely convenient. Unlike Bluetooth safes, this WiFi safe has no distance limitation. Whether I’m at home or away, I can receive real-time alerts through the app and remotely control the safe, which makes me feel much more secure. The tamper alarm system is also very reliable. If someone moves or tries to pry open the safe, an alarm is triggered immediately. The built-in buzzer and gateway will sound, while the app, sub-accounts, and email notifications ensure that both I and my family are alerted right away. I also love the one-tap emergency lockdown feature. In case of an emergency, I can activate “Frozen Mode” remotely to suspend all user access and lock the safe instantly, buying time until law enforcement arrives. Installation and setup are very simple. You can fix it to a wall or just place it where you like. It also works as a regular safe with a passcode, which is especially convenient for older users. Overall, this is a well-designed, easy-to-use, and cost-effective smart safe. If you’re looking for a reliable way to protect your family and valuables, this product is definitely worth it.

good safe and solution
I was looking for a solution to help my 96 years old Mom to avoid agitation and panic attack that she is losing money or other valuables or they are stolen. A safe came as possible solution. I bought a $59 best buy safe from Amazon and it had a few problems for me: my Mom could not hit small keys on keypad with her fingernails and she was forgetting the passcode and what does it mean to close the safe. The passcode was on a sticker next to the safe which beats the purpose. Next iteration came to the safe with a shelf I am reviewing because it has remote wi-fi access and it was not required to remember passcode when under stress (I could open safe remotely). I was surprised to find that the safe has bigger keys which my Mom did not have problems to press. I cannot comment on complexity of the wi-fi installation, I am from IT systems administration, so it comes to you pressing all the buttons, and it works at the end. I do sent a few emails to the manufacture for clarifications which were responded right away. The safe does come with a manual and video. Trying to tune solution for my Mom I bounced ideas with the manufacture and was surprised with willingness to understand the concerns and look for possible solutions. After two month of usage of the safe, I consider the solution a big success. I almost never opened the safe remotely, it was not required (I do test time to time), but it was and is a big psychological factor. For example, yesterday my Mom called me that she wanted to count money and the safe did not open. I asked her to stand next to the safe anticipating an easy victory. No, it did not help. I asked her to talk to the helper next to her, and it turned out she was trying to open a printer and not the safe. She did not have problems with the safe. Never during these two months she brought up topic that money are stolen. And everybody maintains the concept that valuables are and should be in the safe and it is a first place to check. And if item is not in the safe - it is not a valuables.
