Worked As Well as Dremel Drill
I am very pleased with this product. It was on the low-cost spectrum, and I expected it wouldn't be as good as my drill... but it actually is. In fact, it worked better. I use it for trimming and thinning fungus thickened nails. For me, this is the only way to control them to keep them from growing in-grown or becoming too thick. They file down quite nicely. I have been slowly getting rid of the fungus, but when my drill died on me, I procrastinated in ordering another one. This one is so easily handled. It has plenty of power and anything you need comes with it. I totally sculpted my nails, flattening out the raised high ridges and drilling down the thickness. My toenails are so much better looking now, it's hard to see that I have a problem at all. My toenails look totally normal to anyone not specifically holding a magnifying glass to my toes (whew, how creepy). No more pain, fungus is so easily treated (I use vinegar water to soak and treat with a silicone toe cover, wash, rinse, etc.). It's impossible to treat the fungus with the thickness and hardness of the nails... trim both the ends and the surface and the treatment is absorbed 20 times better than leaving the nail thickened and trying to treat. I had to have my husband help me before. He loves this gadget because it is so handy, simplified to hold and manipulate. The power is very strong... no difference to my plug-in. To be honest, I don't know how long the battery lasts, because it's never stopped on me, yet. I've even used it successfully on my dog and cat nails. Being wireless, not overly heavy or large (easy to manipulate) helped more than I thought. All my fur babies have no problem now as it's not as scary as the other plug-in that I was using. They seem much more receptive. They still don't like it but are not totally freaked out and remain reasonably comfortable. Recommend.

Easy to use, when the button works
I'm a dog groomer. I loved this tool so much that I recommended it to another dog groomer. It works amazing for doing dog nails. Unfortunately, her tool quit working after 6 months. My tool is starting to go out after 1.5 years. I love everything about this except for the power button. The light is useful, the adjustable power settings help me file down different thicknesses of nails, it's tough enough to not break after being dropped, it feels heavy enough in the hand, but not too heavy to cause hand fatigue. Once Avid Power fixes the power button issue, this is gonna be one of the best rotary tools on the market for groomers.

Dog dremel
I work with dogs and this has been the best dremel I’ve used, it fits perfectly into ur hand so it’s easy. It’s pretty lights weight, u can adjust the speed accordingly to nail sizes or just how dogs react to the noise, it’s cordless.

So far so good
So far I like it, I had the one with the button and that went out about 6 months after I bought it. I really like this brand because it is powerful and it’s light in your hand. I’m a dog groomer and it works wonders for nails. I like the newer model now with the switch for on/off instead of the button. Hopefully this will last me longer than 6 months

Not worth the cheapness of it
I have bought 3 of these crap things and I'm a little sick of how it's going. From day one I got the replacement plan to get them replaced, which makes sense but it is so very difficult to get it actually replaced. So be aware of that and more on this later. The first one worked great for maybe 2 months then when in use it sounded like a jet engine taking off. Not good if you use it one dogs nails. Got a hold of amazon for a replacement, they directed me to to the AVID company page. After a bunch of back and forth and only after sending them actual video of the loudness of this unit they finally sent a replacement. I went and bought a second one so I wasn't without one while the other one was getting shipped. Well after about a month the button, when you press to turn it on, nothing. I took it apart and saw that it is making contact with the components, but something is up with the circuit board. I kept going back and forth with the AVID co to get a replacement but someone over there dropped the ball. Nothing. The third one, was my personal one I bought some 9 months ago and eventually that one died on me at like the 11 month mark. If only the AVID company made it any kind of easy to get a replacement. I wouldn't recommend unless you want a 3 month throw away dremel. Sad because it is a good design, but perhaps cheeeap parts makes it crap out. ugh.

Great value but only a few minor drawbacks, not much torque, load sensitive
Updated 2025 Review: So its been 6 years and this tool still works fine for me. I have noticed over the years it is very load sensitive. Meaning if the batteries aren't fully charged and you start to work it hard - maybe pressing too hard while cutting material or maybe your cutting wheel gets dragged a bit much and there's excessive load, the device shuts off. I've fully charged the batteries and cracked open the case (there are 8 small Phillips screws) to check the pair of 18650s. They measured 4.17-4.18 VDC so they are really fully charged and still look good after 6 years. I feel they aren't just as balanced for heavy duty work like a Milwaukee M12 which uses three 18650s. I also did not inspect the 18650s in this Avid Power to check their capacity. But in many of the online tests I've seen, the Milwaukee and Dremel and other tools with higher capacity batteries actually produced more torque. For example the Milwaukee High Output 2.5 Ah and 5.0 Ah battery packs allowed the Milwaukee 2460 and 2525 tools to produce more power than with regular capacity batteries. So I suspect this Avid Power used some real low end 18650 cells for its 8V power. If you're planning to groom your dog's nails, I'd recommend a Dremel 8250 or 8240 instead. The Milwaukee 2525 Brushless comes highly recommended but the sheer number of people complaining about low speed issues makes me shy away from it. This Avid Power tool is more suited for small and light applications, like trying to shave off material in the bowels of a car's engine compartment or cut through a small fastener. If you're cutting pipes repeatedly or using it for repetitive work, look elsewhere or get a corded Dremel. Original 2019 Review: I wanted a cordless Li-Ion Dremel ever since I ordered a whole bunch for our team at work (we had a project that required use of dremels out in the field) about 16 years ago. But I never wanted to spend that much money on a cordless rotary tool... until now when I found out Avid also makes a very very affordable cordless rotary tool! It works perfectly but there are only a few drawbacks. The tool spins at a much lower RPM than most corded tools. This is a good thing if you require slow and precise grinding. It's a bad thing if you need to blast through a lot of material. For what I needed, the slower speed was actually beneficial. I could use it with far greater precision. For heavier-duty use, I would go with my corded dremel although at full speed this Avid wasn't too bad. The LED light is helpful, but not bright enough and it is easy to cast shadows. The battery life is great though, and it was fast to charge. Overall, if it had a brighter light and maybe a bit more power at the max setting, I'd give it 5 out of 5 stars.

UPDATE THIS SELLER IS INCREDIBLE AND SO IS THIS PRODUCT
So my first review is below and this is the updated one as of 02/27/2020 the first tool died after a couple months of minimal use which left me thouroughly dissapointed so I reached out to the seller and low and behold they took care of business. They promptly sent out a new one and it is amazing! Works better than the first one and they did it all at no charge. I was thoughoughly impressed with how quickly and professionally it was handled. Very grateful that I reached out. This thing works really great has good power to it. Thank you very much for everything! Would love to do business again and will be checkiing out their store to see what else they sell. Pretty nifty little hand tool. Charges quick and lasts a while. Several speeds. Works great! Update: was in the middle of using this and it stopped so not a big deal I put it on the charger to let it recharge and when the light was green and it was all charged up i went to use it again and it didnt work at all. So the tool is completely dead now and I'm not sure if it's just defective or what but I am incredibly disappointed.
