Can this be used on threaded connections instead of plumbers tape to prevent leaks?

This is not used to seal FPT (female pipe taper) and MPT (male pipe taper) plumbing pipe threads to prevent leaks. This is a lubricant that is primarily used on neoprene, butyl, nitrile, EPDM, etceteras, o-rings and gaskets. The lubricant assist in assembly and helps prevent bunching of the seal material as it is being tighten. It also aids in making a contact sealing surface for the o-ring and gasket. Examples where it might be use: sink/tub faucet valve stem, the o-ring on a PVC union or PVC union ball valve, etceteras. There are other pipe sealants that can be use to seal tapered threaded pipes like "Oatey White Pipe Joint Compound", "Highside Leak Lock Pipe Joint Sealant", "Permatex Thread Sealant with PTFE".

What is the percent of silicone in this product?

This worked fine on the abs pipes I was installing and cleaned up easily. But the five star rating is really because my notary seal was completely jammed shut.
