Super quick and easy install
Vehicle: 15' Subaru Legacy Great! Showed signed of failure after 3yrs. See Update #5 This was a super quick and easy install. No directions are even necessary it's so easy. I waited til it was time for an oil change and began things as normal. Removed the bolt from the oil pan, drained the oil, and yadda yadda. Once all the oil drained, I installed the drain valve. It screwed into place exactly as expected. I covered the valve with a rag and used a pair of pliers to to tighten the valve to minimize scratching it. Quick and easy! I poured a little oil into the vehicle, opened the valve and like magic, oil came flowing out. Opening and closing the valve mid stream was very clean and easy. Heck, TOO clean and easy. The lever for the valve needs to be pushed up then rotated. This means if something catches the lever, it's not going to easy rotate the valve to an open position while driving. To further test this, I slapped the valve handle a bit and it held up quite well. Great design and great forethought. Now I can't wait til my next oil change so I can knock it out a little quicker and and little easier and much cleaner! As usual, I will update this review as needed, probably in the next 4-6 months, unless something goes awry. UPDATE: 3 months after the original installation, I finally did the first oil change with the drain valve. I removed the clip that holds the release lever in place. Positioned the oil catch pan, then opened the valve. I did get a bit of oil on my hand but far far less than I normally did when I change my oil before the drain valve. Once the oil started draining, it was a waiting game. The drain valve flows a bit slower than I was expecting, but the job was tremendously more cleaner, so I was accepting of the extra time. After about 10-minutes I noticed there was still a steady drip of oil. I was a bit disappointed by this, but when I loosened the drain valve and removed it, I noticed that there wasn't even a cup of oil left. I would have been completely accepting of leaving that oil in the engine as it was such a small amount. I put the lever back into the lock position, then fumbled with the lever clip for about 3-minutes trying to get it back in place. It was a bit annoying, but I got it. From there, it was as simple as adding oil, installing the new filter, and going on about my way. The drain took roughly twice as long as it normally does, but this is acceptable as the end result is significantly more cleaner than it originally was in removing the bolt and trying to dodge the heavy stream of oil. This was money well spent. UPDATE #2 (Final): It's been a year and I've got no complaints. No leaking, no issues, and oil changes are still a breeze. It still takes a bit longer to drain out all the oil, but that's the only complaint. This device is great and no longer do I have to worry about getting oil down my arms when removing the bolt from the oil pan. Additionally changing the oil when the engine is a bit warm isn't as bad either. (Unexpected) UPDATE #5: I was not expecting to update this again, but here we are. 3 years and 5 months after installation, I noticed drops of oil on my garage floor. I raised the vehicle, confirmed the Futomo drain valve was securely on, wiped it off, then checked on it the next morning. Just as I suspected, it has a very slow leak. There were a few new drops of oil on the garage floor and the valve had the a drop of oil waiting to fall. I re-did the test twice more to confirm the oil was coming from the valve as opposed to elsewhere. When I re-installed the original drain plug and left the vehicle over-night, there were no oil droplets on the floor. As seen in the images, the leak is small and honestly isn't that big of a big deal. But I'm now purchasing a replacement Futomo drain valve as I don't want oil on my garage floor. To be clear, I still love the product hence me buying a replacement. It's made oil changes over the years incredibly easy and clean! As I'm now purchasing a replacement, this will be my final update.

You won’t regret it!
If you do your own oil changes and haven’t discovered the Fumoto valve yet, you are missing out! I ended up trying one on my wife’s car after hearing about them, and the previous owner had clearly stripped the oil pan bolt, so the timing just seemed right to try it. Since then, I’ve put a Fumoto valve on all my vehicles. It makes oil changes quicker, easier, tool-less, and mess free. Once you try it, you’ll never go back.

Makes oil changes quick & easy
I installed the Fumoto F-108 valve on my 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Limited and it has been excellent. Very easy to install, zero leaks or drips when closed, and makes draining engine oil extremely easy. Excellent product!

Get one!
A must have for quick and clean oil changes. Makes everything so easy and simple. Make sure to be careful when installing not to over torque or put your wrench in an area that could cause damage to the valve.

Quick oil changes
I always add these to my newly acquired vehicles to make it easier to change oil and filter, while I change the car tires from summer/winter, or reverse. No tools needed, once installed.

Well worth its weight in gold
This valve makes changing the oil in my WRX so easy now, no longer need to remove the drain plug and replace the gasket each time. I like the included lock that keeps the valve from opening if something bumps it. All in all a great product.

Bought this for a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. I used an aluminum crush washer instead of the fibre one supplied. I ran the front wheels up on boards about 3 inches. This allowed me to slide under the car and change the valve one handed. An open end wrench placed over the valve and tightened with a crescent wrench works. Tighten till felt crush washer seat. Do not over tighten. No leaks. the valve is protected by the plastic skid plate so not worried about knocking it off with normal travelling. If I was off roading I might not use the valve. Make sure to use the clip. Not only does it secure the lever but it helps keep crap out of valve. I also applied some oil to the valve to ensure the ball rotated smoothly.

Had this installed on my ‘16 Subaru BRZ. Made oil changes a breeze. Minimal jacking requires to drain the oil (though keep your safety in mind). The lever is nice and firm and locks into place. Never needed the clip that locks it shut really but it’s optional. The oil flow is a nice clean stream that is easy and predictable so your oil changes can be done easily without mess. Now installed on my WRX and I highly recommend

This thing changed my life, oil changes are so easy and no mess on my hands. I'd choose this valve over the valves with long nipple; keep in mind the ones with long nipple has higher chance of rubbing especially in winter. Also I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who has lowered their cars too much. Always keep an eye for any oil drip spots on your driveway so that you'll know if there's a leak. However I know few people who are happy with fumoto valves, I never heard anyone complain or having issues with this so far. Just gotta be care full as it sticks out a tad bit more than the OEM drain plugs
