Bought this for my notalgia paresthetica on my neck/shoulder. It's a spot that itches insanely when nothing's amiss. They consider it an overactive nerve thing but it's onset and progression sure sound parallel to cold sores, so I thought I'd give it a go. Works wonderfully. Apply 2-3 times per day and especially about 15 minutes before bed so you can sleep. I don't have, and never had cold sores, but this medication stops the maddening itching of notalgia paresthetica within 15 minutes.

I used to get a lot of canker sores. This worked wonders by protecting the sore with a coat like super glue. It worked exactly like before. My 20-40 year old Zilactin dried. This new arrival worked exactly like before. I need to add that a couple of reviews said it strings badly when put on. Yes but only for a few seconds. Then NO PAIN. Someone said for 20 minutes. Never for me.

After years of being cold sore free I ended up with one during could/flu season. I didn't want to use Abreva due to it giving the obvious white cast on the lip, I also remember having to reapply often and didn't want that either. Because of the benzyl alcohol it will sting! At least for a good 5 to 10 seconds. As it's stinging the area turns white. It creates a bioadhesive after drying for 30 to 60 seconds that helps heal the cold sore and manages pain that comes with the blistered cold sore. I use less than a pea size amount and protects for hours. Bought it last Friday and my cold sore is close to being healed!
