The product fit my needs to a "T." The ladder was easy to assemble. The quality and sturdiness, and stability was above expectations. Functionality is perfect and ease of use rates well. This product has my stamp of approval. Allow 2 hours for assembly and installation. Ladder not included. I added a review for the ladder.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This does not come with the ladder, which was noted well in the listing. I’m thankful the ladder shown in photos was linked making it easy to order the ladder shown. The rail system was easy to install, but the sizing of the mounting arms was not well noted under product specifications. We had to send question in before ordering. Instructions weren’t bad, but relied upon visual acuity in order to fully assemble as some steps were not written out. Most likely not an issue for couples who look at photos and see the same thing. Not the case in my home. ;) Nevertheless, I believe the lack of sizing details for the mounting feet and lack of fully written installation instructions warrants the loss of a star. In addition, the plastic buffer pieces for the hanging straps had to be manually stretched before they could be installed. The metal bar was incredibly lite, making me question the sturdiness when it arrived. Once installed I felt confident in its strength, but won’t lie that it didn’t initially concern me.

Perfect ladder for my daughter’s loft bedroom. Easy to install. Assembly was a little challenging, but not terrible. I did need a second person when assembling the ladder.

The hardware sucks . Seller offered to replace but with same screws. The screws broke off in the wood (even though we pre-drilled per instructions) and in some cases the screws stripped easily, making it difficult to go through the wood. They seem to be made of aluminum, way too soft for the purpose of supporting the weight of a human on a library ladder. We ended up buying metal rated screws and painting them black to match. We like the rest of the product very much. If the changed the hardware, it would be a solid 5 star.

The box arrived in good shape and nothing was damaged. My immediate thought was how light the carton was. Upon inspection, the hardware is heavily weighted metal, and not as thick as I've had in other sets. It's totally functional though, and should hold up well enough. My real disappointment was the realization that the steps (in the photo) are not included. I figured I would have to furnish the wood legs, but the matching steps should be part of the set. I have other issues as well, like the locks on the rollers. To lock the wheels, I simply push the lever down with my foot. But to unlock the wheels, I have to stoop down and use my finger to pull the lever up. Unlocking is very inconvenient. The slot in the underside (the side that shows the most) is partially and inconsistently spray painted. Overall, the set is okay and can be useful. But for most DIY'ers, the construction of the steps and legs will make this set less useful.
