Relaxing, fun, and engaging
Biomutant is an open world, apocalyptic, action-roll playing game. You can swap between ranged, melee, and magic while in combat. Sometimes weapon elements like fire, ice, or electric are helpful for certain situations. Also, you might need to avoid certain elements or find protection from them. That can done from gear or skills. You will get skill points throughout the game for weapons, types of combat, speed, magic, and so on. There’s plenty of hidden stuff, and there are puzzles in most locations. Current game difficulty levels are easy, normal, and hard to choose from. Exploring the map is top notch so far, (maybe patch in respawning enemy groups). While exploring you can ride many types of things or use crafty gadgets to get around. There are tons of side quest that you can choose to do, including monster hunting. At some point you can choose a faction, and a aura (good/bad). The character creation was pretty interesting making a custom animal-type. Customization options for character creation and class are available at the start. Biomutant’s overall color scheme is pretty vibrant with neon green, bright blue, and orange projectiles for example. Some of the music sounds similar to Warhammer Chaosbane in the underground areas. The crafting in this game is really well done, as you can customize quite a few parts on some of the gear for example. The game runs decent on the PS4 slim, and you can play offline. Many save files are available. I’ve never seen a levitating cat shooting bright green, purple, and blue projectiles so I’d say it’s an innovative game.

Awesome
Pretty good character settings and level-ups. Cool story line that's easy to follow. The narrator talks too much at random times, just to say random stuff about the weather or dumb metaphors that barely make sense. And the NPCs can also be quite long-winded. But all around great game, if you can deal with the talking. I loved that it wasn't too short, as well. Even after the bosses are all defeated and game is "over", you have the option to go back in and finish as many side quests as you want.

Fun for ones who like deep conversations, not fun for ones who want a challenge.
Interesting decision based game that tackled on philosophical and epistemologically self conscious questions concerning ethics, what we want out of life, and vice versa. Offered a decent selection of ways to customize character with weapon crafting from unorthodox materials and attributes you would usually not expect in weapons and firearms. Plenty of dress related suits that offered certain attributes you would find in an end of the world game (casual wear to army veteran and anything in between). Environments had a BC slash 20th century flavor to it that crossed between possibly ancient China to 20th century London. My biggest issues was the combat, side quests, strategy, vehicles, and back story. Combat seemed somewhat clunky and psi-powers really offered no advantage against enemies and bigger foes. Not much of a strategic tactic for bigger enemies either since most could be taken down easily with either a dual welded firearms or shotguns (radioactive or element related worked best) and not much of a chance for up close confrontation (most pummeled you). Health related items seemed really scarce as well and additional stuff for vehicles really offered no true protection other than changing the appearance. Certain side quests as well often provided a distraction that really did nothing to enhance the story. Bottom line: game is fun for those who like epistemological based discussion; however, combat and other things just seem a bit to clunky without much strategic thought.

Cool but narration kills it
I was super excited when it released because I’d been waiting for maybe 2 years. I played about 7-8 hours and finally just tried to play with the audio muted because the narration, fun for minute at first, gets old really really fast. Also the tone is much more... cutesy... than I had anticipated. It is fun though. Decent map size, fun combat and character development-creation is pretty good. Lots of build options as you level up

Ignore the reviews - this game is good.
whats not to love about furries using filed down license plates as battle axes? If you read the reviews online, you'll see this game being compared to Witcher, Horizon Zero Dawn and other major AAA releases from bigger studios. The truth is that this game was made by 25 people at THQ Nordic. The small team was able to carve out a very flawless escapism experience in a world filled with things to explore. The world is devoid of real-world politics or goofy mechanics. I find myself playing it for hours before realizing its time to go to bed. Accept that this game does not measure up to bigger titles and you'll enjoy it for what it is - a solid game. I hope the DLC will be just as good and a sequel can be bankrolled.

A Fallout like adventure.
I passed on this game for so long until i saw it was free on PS4. I played it a while then had to have the physical copy(because why not). Its a blast to play. Very much like Fallout but in my opinion so much more fun.

Animals check. Mecha check. Insanity check.
Biomutant is very fun. The game is open world with restrictions based on how much you have accomplished. The gadgets do their job as soon as you get familiar with them. Weapon customization is gets complex but you'll eventually find out what type of parts bashing results that fit into your play style. Getting factions to unify means you will have help randomly or not be attacked by those factions. Also don't try to fight under leveled too much, as the enemy will find a way to eventually kill you. Have fun and have the fight of your life as there are some slow motion activations depending on the amount of action going on your screen. This is a sleeper hit.
