1 Gal. Blue Chiffon Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus) Live Shrub, Blue Flowers

September 24, 2018: The pink, 1-gallon Rose of Sharon came in a tall, narrow box with air holes and corner cardboard insets to keep plant stabilized. The roots were wrapped in plastic and a string was wrapped around the stem and taped to pot to prevent the plant from falling out of the pot. The bush itself was healthy, blooming and had more buds. The bloom looks true to picture. Unusual to have blooms this late in the year. The potting mix was of high grade quality. See pictures to see plant condition, box, and blooms on first day. I received a gorgeous healthy although small plant it was growing good and taller than I expected. Within a short time it has grown very well and has flower buds getting ready to open.

I just received this, and must admit, I had low expectations ordering it from amazon. I have purchased Rose of Sharon's from Proven Winners at my local garden shops but decided I wanted a pink chiffon and they were all out of that particular one. Took a chance and ordered it and my low expectations were dashed. The plant arrived FULL of blooms and buds and very very healthy. Extremely happy. Going to let it rest today and will be planting it tomorrow. So if you are hesitant to order online I say take the chance, it was much larger than the 6-18" as stated in the description and was shipped in a tall upright box with holes. Can't wait to order more!

Was excited to try this seller and this plant. We have relandscaped and wanted to add some unusual plants to our front yard garden area. I have purchased and grown hibiscus previously so am no stranger to the plant or the quality you sometimes receive. I looked over other buyers' pics and information before I made my purchase. Was pleased to see leaves and some growth in the majority of the pics. I received my "stick" today. Unlike other buyers, I had zero leaves in the box or on the plant. I am not able to see any budding in the areas that should have a little green. However, I have lovingly repotted it and placed it under a grow light to give it a chance to bud if it is going to. My pic did not turn out too well however I think it is clear enough you can get the idea of what I am working with here. Not impressed with the product or the shipping. It came via postal service and as others have shared the box was cardboard with very little "cushion" for the shipping method the seller chose. A cardboard box and a plastic bag are very little defense for the USPS. Will wait a few days then ask for a refund if I am unable to revive this poor thing. Suspect, I will be looking for a replacement soon. 1/29/22 Updated a photo of my hibiscus after loving care under a grow light for several weeks. It has developed very healthy green leaves and is starting to branch out. With more time and the right attention, I am hopeful it will continue to grow then bloom. I will continue to update so others can see the potential over time should they receive a plant similar to the one I received.

I received this two days quicker than anticipated and it looks in great shape out of the box. It's happily planted in its new home and I look forward to watching it flourish. Update - year two for my lil guy and he's doing great. Loving all the blooms :)

Update... after four replacements last year, three of them took off growing like crazy and looked amazing at the end of the summer. One looked pitiful, but was still alive. Of the 4, only 1 has budded this season. The other three look dead!! Really annoying because I want this plant!! I have purchased several of these over the last two years, this size and the big size. I needed a total of three all together. It has been a struggle. I have had two or three, I’ve lost count, which were replaced by the company because they do not grow and die. As of the end of the summer season, I had two that did well and look great and yet another dead one. I really want one where the dead one is, as they look great when they do well. I don’t know if I will mess with another or not. We live in central Illinois. They should do fine, but why some don’t I do not know!

Beautiful flowers. I planted this one in a pot, has had several blooms. Will plant in ground after it grows larger. I have several althea, most are about 10' tall. Great shrubs, actually trees. Several colors, they bloom all summer. This one is "blue" but has purple look also, much more blue than my purple ones. Good choice for yard, very colorful and resilient.

This arrived very healthy with a beautiful foliage and bigger than what I had imagined for the size of plant I ordered. Covered with a bunch of flower buds. Really impressed.

I was pleased to be able to find this plant on line because I couldn’t find it in my town.
