A Lot of Loading Information
This is a good book on reloading, but I was disappointed that it does not show any energy figures in the ballistics. Also, I was surprised to find that a load for a 38 special with a 158 grain bullet using Clays powder was not in the book. Since a 38 special is so common, and Clays powder and a 158 grain cast bullet are probably some of the most common components used today, I would have thought it would be in there. These were the first things I wanted to look up when the book arrived, so I was naturally a little disappointed. However, there is a lot of good info in what is a good quality well-written book. If anyone is interested, I use 2.5 grains of Clays behind a hard cast 158 grain bullet which makes a good medium load for a 38 Special. I use the same setting on my powder measure and just pull the lever twice for 5.0 grains when I load for my 45 Long Colt, and my 44 Magnum using hard cast bullets of 230 and 240 grains respectively. This is a fairly mild load for a 44 Magnum, but it is pleasant to shoot and still delivers quite a wallop. But you will have to buy another book, or calculate the energy, because it is not shown in this book. UPDATE: I found the loading data I was missing so I owe an apology to Mr Lee. Now if it just had energy figures I would give it five stars. .

Great Book for the price
The info contained in the book is great! From start to finish, there is so much info, that it will be a great reference companion. The first part of the book, deals with general information about the different types of reloading equipment, presses, primer tools, case prep, etc. and specifically talks about the Lee family of products - however, with that said, most presses and accessory items function much the same way, whether it's an RCBS, Redding or Hornady, but this book does talk extensively about the virtues of Lee products! The loading info is detailed and well balanced and the printing is in large type face for easy reading. Now the negative. It discusses primers in general and the need for caution as this is the part of the process that is the most dangerous, however, it does not go to any great lengths (or detail) about specific primers to use in certain loads. Since ALL primer manufacturers, have different "classes" of primers within each category of round (Small Pistol, Large Pistol, Small Rifle, Large Rifle), it seems to me, that there should be more info regarding best type for best situation?? it only has "general info" and a list of "good primers" to use in Lee products and a "bad list" of what not to use (in Lee products)! This book would be near perfect, if within each caliber category, it discusses more specific types of primers to use for each load grouping?

Outstanding Manual
Packed with very useful information, more than any other reloading manual. I'm glad I bought it. So many useful articles and reloading data.
