Epson WorkForce DS-60000 A3 Document Scanner 40ppm

This is a huge scanner - I was expecting something big, but this is really big. It's also very heavy too. One person can carry it, but it's awkward due to its size. This is not a scanner for bringing out when you need it - ideally it'll need a dedicated place on your desk! The box it comes in is massive, and very well padded with polystyrene. I opted for next-day delivery and it arrived by Parcelforce early afternoon. The scanner is beautifully made, and feels like it'll last well. The scan quality is amazing - I've previously been struggling with an A4 £99 canon scanner, and the Epson is in a different league - as you'd expect, of course. I'm an artist, so I use it for scanning original artwork. I'm able to copy oversize A2 originals in four scans, then use Photoshop's 'photomerge' to reassemble them (file, automate, photomerge). Surprisingly not mentioned on Amazon, Epson are running a cashback offer of £120 for this scanner between 01 Feb and 31 March 2014 (www.epsonrewards.eu) so scan the receipt/proof of purchase with your new scanner and fill in the claim form on line. Get in quick... time's running out!

It's pricey, but as I run a website dedicated to scans of old advertising (Gypsy Creams), it's been well worth the investment. Easy to use (I have a Mac and it works well with it), and produces beautiful scans. If your image quality is important, and you need a mid-price point, you would be very happy with this.

Owned same model and had 6 years great service until the unit gave up. So bought another exactly the same and arrived promptly and works as brilliantly as the old one.

Fantastic. A cart load of cash but image quality is in another world. Clear as a bell.
