Reversing Neuropathy: Making The Impossible Possible : Prax, Dr. Brian: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Unbelievable title, or is it? - Most excellent book and he puts forward excellent points about neuropathy. It CAN be improved so please do not not buy this book because you think it's not possible. I repeat, DO buy this book if you want to get better and believe it you will. I also bought another book first which really helped me get my type 2 long term blood sugar level down from 10.8 to 6.4 in just 3 months and that book is called "The 8 week blood sugar diet". It sounds faddy but isn't. It came recommended by a top homeopathist and he was spot on. So basically this book helped me get it under control and the one I'm reviewing here helped my neuropathy too. Also I found a supplement called "Curalin" by "Curalife". As a part of my voracious learning curve about all things diabetes I came across Curalin and immediately knew the natural products were spot on for blood sugar management. I'm sorry this is turning into a bit of a diabetes review but it's important not believe everything you hear about it. I had kidded myself for way to long and was at serious risk. I got diagnosed (a lot of scaremongering and there's no hope and so on) I got scared, bought the 8 week diet, then this book then Curalin. I came off the regular amounts of Curalin a couple of months ago as it was too much and actually having a detrimental effect on my blood sugar would you believe! A lot of trial and error and the doctor says I will never be cured of type 2 diabetes, just in remission!! What I can tell you is I am cured. The key to ALL of this and reversing diabetes type 2 is to lose the fat around your middle and keep going until the fat has gone from around your liver and pancreas. I'm no doctor or scientist but I know myself and my pancreas IS producing insulin again. Good luck and believe it plus buy the three things I did, you won't regret it! Fantastic book! Review: Don't give up hope! - The book is easy to read, and positive and encouraging, but its aims are limited. It does not back up its views with research evidence. Nor does it go into detail as to recommended diet....some of the dietary suggestions run strongly counter to those of other experts, e.g. eat red meat. Nevertheless I bought 4 copies...3 to give away. I recommend you to read it.

Great book!
My mom has been mom suffering from neuropathy for the third year. We tried almost everything and went to see a neurologist. The drugs he prescribed made the situation worse. I decided to buy a book and give it a try. There is nothing to lose. I follow some of the recommendations given in the book. It's not an easy process, but I hope it will bring about some results in pain relief for my mom. I like a lot the positive but realistic attitude of Dr Prax. I recommend the book!

Waste of money and time.
I have not yet read through this book, but wish I had not bought it. The print is very faint, as others have commented, but it is the style that annoys and insults. Chatty, gossipy, OK, put up with, but phrases like "Lemme explain" (for "Let me") are a condescension too far. Chapter headings are "My story", "Who's to Blame for America's Health Cridus", "The Crisis Care Dilemma". That takes us to page 46 already. You can get a taste on line by hearing the man talk.

Very American based not much help in UK
No help in UK far too much about the individual not enough information to help people anywhere. I would not waste money on it.

Interesting ideas on neuropathy and quite thought provoking. If you have neuropathy it's worth listening to all the ideas and worth considering how they could affect you. Pleased that I have read the book.

Let me start by telling you what this book isn't. It isn't a one stop shop, pop a pill, miracle promising book that guarantees that you will be healthy in 30 days or less. Most people want a quick fix. Get rich quick, get healthy quick, find love quick. This book is a based on sound medical advice and principles for healthy living. I just purchased the book and it has revealed many unhealthy practices that I have adopted in my life. There were certain foods that I had to eliminate, supplements that I had to purchase and lifestyle changes that I had to make. Once I read this book I had a destination and direction. initially I was unable to sleep because of my peripheral neuropathy. I didn't know the cause. I initially thought it was diabetes. My blood sugar however was stable. Once I changed my diet for a week which I actually committed to before purchasing this book I was able to pinpoint the source of my neuropathy. My kidneys were giving me issues. Had I not committed myself to drinking the amount of water recommended a day I would never have figured that out even though I was having back pain. There are numerous physiological issues that can lead to back pain and I never considered that my kidneys could have been the problem. This book gave me keys and principles to figure out the source of my issues. Bad kidneys can't filter out toxins properly and toxicity in the blood can cause nerve damage. I'm now recovering and I still have some issues sleeping because of my kidneys and I still need to consult a PCP (primary care physician) and these are all things that Dr. Prax recommends in his book. If I never improved physically I would have personally contacted Dr. Prax to continue to diagnose my issue. You can tell that he is passionate about people and health and his book personally helped me to enjoy life again without the anxiety of my body failing me. This was a great book, a great read and I would strongly recommend that ANYONE with health issues read this book. I rarely leave reviews, but I believe this is information that everyone needs to hear.

I tried some of the treatments he suggests on my husband and as a result, there have been improvements in my husband's neuropathy in his hands.

I'm glad I bought this book, because it's the first and only honest writing that tells it as it is, and I've bought many books on the subject. Those purchases were a waste of money. Half of them stated, "accept neuropathy and live with it", and the other 50% are written by unqualified persons on the subject who either think they know what they're talking about, and they don't or they're out to make a fast and dishonest buck ! I think many people, like myself, will find it refreshing and will be happy they bought this book, if for no other reason than it tells the truth, as it is !Now this is where the hard part comes in for you and me. The book is an easy read for anyone. The path to curing neuropathy that's challenging and hard. Simply put, for those who have yet to buy the book, the book lays out the plan, and only effective plan that will work, simply explains sensible eating habits reasonable exercise. Eating limitations means giving up about 90% of our current food intake, like pastries, breads, . The book lists 19 food categories hat either have to be reduced or eliminated from consumption, and sugar and sweetening products are the 400 pound gorilla in the room. As one person with neuropathy, it's either living with leg cramps, swollen feet, sleepless nights, ineffective rub on liquids and lotions, etc. for the rest of a persons life, while the condition continues to get worst as time passes or try Dr. Brian Prax's instructions. Following the food intake as outlined in the book, seems to me to be a much smarter path to follow. The book offers hope, following it's instructions might determine its effectiveness ? Who knows ?
