TubShroom and SinkShroom Drain Protectors Hair Catchers for Bathtubs and Sinks, Chrome

This version of the Tub/Sink Shroom works amazingly well. I have used it in my house for several years and it does what it says and catches all my long hair from going down the drains. You do have to pull out the stopper in the sink in order for these to work, but it is well worth the effort and will save you money in the long run (from having to call a plumber). Recently, my renters had a drain clog that couldn't be reached by normal DIY methods, so I called a plumber. The clog was deep into plumbing pipes such that they had to remove/replace a section of pipe. Needless to say, I purchased these for the rental house and insisted that they be used in all sinks and showers to save me the future costs of calling plumber out. Highly recommend!

My husband originally bought me just the one for the tub. I have very long hair and I was getting tired of having to pull clumps out of the drain. This wasn't the first product he bought me. The first one was one of those that sits on top. It would get covered in hair and stop draining, or I'd end up kicking it. I didn't like it. He found this one and I love it. It's flexibility aloud for quick and easy cleaning to pull off the hair. Sometimes it will get full and make the tub drain more slowly, but it still drains. My husband tried a metal one and refused to use it because it was harder to clean. We have these in both bathtubs. The more hair you have the more it's going to catch causing a slower draining. That just means it's doing it's job. Also if you happen to drop clumps of shampoo, conditioner or body wash it's going to catch those clumps as well. This makes it even more important to clean it off after each shower. Otherwise things will start to grow. Now for the sink one it works just as well. One depending on the amount of soap lathering or other products being rinsed down your sink. And two the type of water you have will determine how often you need to clean it. Hard water will cause a build up that doesn't seem to happen as easy on the tub one. I'm guessing because the sink one is more narrow and the holes smaller. Keep an old toothbrush around then use whatever works best to break down soap scum, and hard water stains. I soak mine before going over it with the brush. If you don't clean it regularly or when you notice it's not draining well you'll end up with a build up in your drain that will require either Drain-O or a baking powder/vinegar treatment. Overall it does exactly what it claim's. Catches hair and other things before it gets down and clogs up your drain. But just like many other things it itself needs to be maintained will normal maintenance. Just add cleaning it to your regular cleaning in those areas and you'll have minimal problems.

I'm not really fond of these but they do work. My kids always end up getting something in the sink so it catches the hair and tiny toilet paper wads but it can get clogged up depending on how often you clean it. I have one for the bath tub as well. If you're forgetful like me just beware it can get gross/grimy. Cleaning it isn't too bad but it's rubber so. The bottom of it warps over time but it shouldn't effect its function. I usually wipe it clean and then take an old toothbrush and some soap to get it cleaner. I'm hoping I'll come across a better product otherwise. Size is also perfect for my sink and tub.

These are great products. I've purchased them locally in the past. They really do a much better job of stopping hair from entering the drains of sinks and bathtubs better than the stock grating, or mesh strainers. They will allow water drainage even with significant amounts of trapped hair, or cloth. The only drawbacks are that they stand off of the drain, not flush with the basin and they are made of a soft durable synthetic. Will definitely buy again when needed. 5 stars! Works well but expensive for the lack of quality. I think these work pretty well and they seem to catch the hair but they are pretty flimsy for the price you pay for them. I will look for something higher quality next time. We will see how long it takes for them to fall apart with my kid taking them in and out of the drain.

Durable and keeps your tubs clog free! I have lots of long hair so this is a necessity. Easy to use.

I had the old tub/sinks groom and this one is much more effective. It’s easier to clean because it’s one piece, and doesn’t have a gross washer to remove. My sink and tub drain well and it’s very easy to remove. I would definitely recommend this product.

The tub shroom is awesome but the sink only drains well with the sink shroom ultra, which is awesome

I got these devices based off previous reviews. We needed something that would prevent hair getting into the drain. We use the smaller size in the shower and the larger size in the bathroom sink. Both work well. However, I do find that the small one in the shower is slower to drain away water (a few minutes post shower), and as it stick out a little you can bump it while showering. Both are really minor issues for us. A few times a week I check both and remove any hair etc that has been caught. The design is really good and the chrome look onto makes it a stylish accessory in the bathroom.

Quality wise is really good. Functionality; hmmm…seems these were made not for Middle East as the small one (which should fit tightly the sink hole) is loose and not surrounding the sink hole and not tight insert as should be touching the sink hole walls/pipe. While the tub one fits over tightly the sink. It’s a compromise basically
