I’ve been using a very basic ghd flat iron for more than 20 years, so I already know the brand well and have always respected it. My old one was still good, but after that long it was obviously time for an upgrade. I debated whether this model was really worth the price difference — and after using it, my answer is absolutely yes. For context, I’m 52, post-menopausal, with fine hair that can be a little frizzy and slightly unruly. My hair is cut into a chin-length bob, and because I wear it sleek and polished, a flat iron is not an occasional tool for me — it’s part of my regular routine. So when I say I noticed a difference right away, I really mean it. The very first thing that stood out was the glide. This moves through the hair much more smoothly than my old iron. There’s no tugging, no catching, and no dragging. It feels far more refined, and that alone makes styling feel easier and gentler on the hair. The second thing I noticed was that I needed fewer passes. In most areas, one pass was enough. That was a big deal for me. The only places where I did a couple of extra passes were my cowlicks and the more stubborn areas around my front sections — but even there, it still performed better and faster than what I had been using. I questioned the price before buying it, and now that I’ve used it, I don’t question it anymore. I’m genuinely so happy with this purchase. I already liked ghd, but this made me realize just how much better a more advanced version can be when you actually put it in your hands and use it on your own hair. If you’ve been hanging onto an older flat iron and wondering whether moving up to this level is worth it, I can say from experience: yes, it is. If I could give it more stars, I would.

What a great quality straightener! I’ve been wanting this for a while, and it definitely lives up to the hype. It makes my hair so silky and smooth, and it straightens my naturally wavy hair perfectly. I also love how lightweight it is and the color — it looks so sleek on my vanity. Overall, such a great brand. GHD makes some of the best straighteners I’ve ever used, and this one is no exception. Totally worth it!

Wow! This iron gives better results and leaves my hair silker and straighter with less passes than my older GHD Mk IV Dark styler. If it wasn't for my older styler starting to have intermittent issues after 10+ years of use, I wouldn't have ever considered making the plunge and convince myself on spending the money on GHD's latest styler. All I can say is it was money well spent. I just hope this model lasts 10+ years as well.. -Update- After a week of using this styler on a daily basis, I experienced issues with it, the light would flash red and beep at me and not get hot anymore.. Looking on google, apparently these stylers can have issues where any one of the six fuses would fail and caused this issue, so unfortunately had to return the one I got from Amazon.. However further reading, it seems a lot of the issues may come from those who made their purchases through Amazon and other 3rd party retailers... so against my better judgement because the product worked so well over the older Mark IV model I had, I decided to order another one but this time directly from the GHD website, not sure why I didn't consider or bother to look there in the first place, because I am glad that I did, not only was I able to get the white styler for the same price, but also, the heat spray was free (gotta pay extra for the bundle here on Amazon), but in addition, they had a sale promotion going on so I ended up getting the styler for ~$60 less than the price here on Amazon! Also not sure if it's true or not, but seen some reviews of individuals who did have issues with their styler and ghd not honoring warranty for purchases made off Amazon, however this could be due to individuals buying from the sketchy non-amazon sellers/listings here, but not sure, but whatever the case, at least i'll know buying direct from ghd, the styler will be fully covered if I do have the same issue I had with this one from Amazon beyond the 30 day return window.

Last month I travelled to the UK for a wedding - I brought my North American T3 straightener and unfortunately the AC converter / adapter I used, didn't work and blew my straightener! I needed to purchase a new one - I went to a hair salon and purchased the ghd Classic Original - not cheap! But wow! I was so impressed with this iron! Came back home and still needed a straightener I can use with a North American plug. Looked into the ghd line and splurged! I purchased the ghd Platinum+ ... I've never looked back! I've been using a straightener for over 30 years - I've owned a few! This is truly the best straightener I've ever owned! My hair is shiny, silky smooth! Yes, even better than the ghd Classic Original! The iron heats up incredibly fast. I would highly recommend this straightening iron - yes, it is expensive - but it is so worth it!

Un producto tan caro para que deje de funcionar a dos años de uso normal personal. Hacer válida la garantía es un proceso complicado en el que no terminan de decirme cómo van a hacerlo. No volvería a comprar nunca más un producto de esta marca que cuesta tanto dinero y deja de funcionar en tan poco tiempo de uso. Muy mala experiencia

This hair straightener is too hot!!!!!! And there is no temperature control. Its set on 350 degrees or something but its more like 600. It burnt my hair to a crisp in just 3 usese. I got this hair straightener because the reviews were good on amazon and google. Its supposed to be less damaging to hair but that's the exact opposite, it damages your hair. Your hair will feel dry and crispy. The ghd protector spray just makes it worse somehow?? I returned the item and the protecant spray, then I was told by Amazon it would take up to 30days to get my refund, after talking with Amazon for over 30mins explaining to them waiting 30days for a refund is unacceptable they finally agreed to give me my refund within 5-7 business days. My final thought is don't waste your time or money on this hair straightener, it's not worth the the price, a hair straightener for 90 dollars is better then this and at least you can control the heat. Btw im a black woman from east Africa with 3A to 3C hair type. If anyone wanted to know

Me encantó!!! Tuve mis dudas al inicio por el precio elevado y por saber si su enchufe funcionaría en México, pero realmente valió la pena! Es una gran inversión, mi cabello quedó con un perfecto liso y brillo, cosa que ninguna otra plancha había podido darme. El precio vale la pena! Inmediatamente al recibirla, la registré en GHD para verificar su autenticidad y... es ORIGINAL!!! Por lo que la compra es 1000% segura!!! El enchufe o conector lo puedes usar perfecto en México. EXCELENTE COMPRA!!!
