horse shoe boil reduced
my QH developed a shoe boil from his special front shoes that need to be set way back. Because of the way he lays down, the boot goes on the same side as the boil. I've been using this nightly when he goes into his stall and the boil has greatly reduced. Very easy in & off. Glad I found this

Helped take the pressure off his shoe boil BUT horse HATED wearing it
Seems well made and good quality. My gelding wore it once. Once. I'm not surprised. He's a spaz about that sort of stuff. Thankfully the shoe boil is finally decreasing in size. Probably would've happened faster if my horse would've cooperated!

NOT for large horses
Product description does not offer the size of the product, only the size of the package. DEFINITELY NOT for large horses(draft horses).Item appears that it would work well but I am returning these.

Great
I am pleasantly surprised this didn't bother my horse at all, it's not as firm as it looks and it actually helped the shoe boil disappear. I'm very happy with it.

Arrive quickly & Fit fine
This boil boot is softer than it looks in pic- which is a good thing. Plenty of holes to adjust tightness. Fits fine and is accepted well by my 15.2 h Morgan horse. Only on him in stall. I do not have it on him when he is turned out during the day. Delivery was fast and easy.

It worked very well.
My 3-year old suddenly developed a gigantic shoe boil. The vet recommended a shoe boil donut. I was VERY skeptical, but after 5 weeks of him wearing it 24/7, it almost completely disappeared. There's a little bit of loose skin where it was (and he has a winter coat now so I can't precisely see.) but the swelling is gone. It has been more than 3 months now and it has not come back. I was amazed that it didn't bother him at all after the first 5 minutes and he didn't mind me taking it off or putting it on him. (I did take it off to ride him.) I would recommend confining your horse to a stall. I would not feel comfortable turning him out just in case he managed to get it tangled up in a fence or something. I wrapped it in vet wrap every couple of days and took it off and dried it if it got wet. I only used it during summer. I am not sure that I would be comfortable using it on my horse if he were getting it wet and the temperatures were freezing. I would worry about the potential for frostbite. It was amazingly durable and held up really well. Pro tip: When you are putting it on and taking it off, do not put your head directly in front of his front knee or your horse will knock you out if he flexes his knee.
