Not full noise cancellation
It is not noise canc. It is reduction... case is very bad. Headphones volume level is good.

Uncomfortable, Non-existent noise protection
Used this for multiple trips on the 737. Although the headset is very light, it is very uncomfortable on the ears after about an hour. The ENC doesn’t do much for the higher pitched wind noise on the 737. It has virtually zero passive noise protection since the ear pieces don’t fit tight on the ears. Bought this to replace my lost David Clark Pro X which is much better than the Airman 8. I only bought the Telex because it was the only brand in stock and thought I’d give it a try. Very disappointed. Will be returning.

Ear Cups Do Not Swivel
After using the older Telex ANR8 for several years, I upgraded to the newer Telex Airman 8 ANR. Overall decent headset but with an odd design feature. Surprisingly, the ear cups on the Airman 8 ANR are in a fixed position and do not swivel. People have different shaped heads and ears with varied angles making rotating ear cups an essential design feature. The fixed ear cups makes it impossible to reduce ambient noise except for maybe on the person’s head that the research and development of the headset is molded after. It makes no sense to make a headset with electronic noise reduction if ambient noise is allowed to creep-in under the ear cups just because of the fit on the ears. My older Telex ANR8 is actually a better headset because the ear cups rotate freely, conforming to the fit on my head and ears. The rotating ear cups also allow for a more compact case which takes up less space in my flight kit than the more bulky case for the newer Airman 8 ANR. My initial thought was, “What were they thinking”? If you like headsets with ear cups in a fixed position, then this headset is for you. It has quality construction and appears durable, being not as fragile as previous models.

Couldn't wear for more than one flight.
The quality of this headset is good, and the noise cancellation work fairly well too for a headset that doesn't completely cover the ear. However, I couldn't even finish one flight with this headset because it is so uncomfortable. Not sure who they designed this for but it does not fit a human head properly. It actually hurt my ears to wear this. I ended up returning the headset as soon as I finished my airline trip!

Active Noise Cancellation works “too well”.
The headset is not bad. The audio reception is clear and crisp but the ANC works too well. So well that I can hardly hear the other crew in the flight deck . It somehow reduced the volume of human voices too. By turning off the ANC, ambient noise seems a little bit noisier because of the shape of the ear-cups. Therefore, I’m now using only on one ear with the ANC switched on to listen to the rt and my right ear for cockpit comms. Can Telex advise on the correct application of this particular headset?

Great Update to the 750
Nice headset, nice improvements over the old 750 I've had for 20 years. And the noise cancelling is just enough in a larger jet. May not be if you are in a turbo prop. And for the price, not bad at all. It's doesn't do bluetooth, doesn't have gain, doesn't have multiple inputs. It just a well made, light, comfortable headset, that cancels just enough noise for me.

Improvement over previous models
Expensive but you get what you pay for. They work great and a definite improvement over previous models.

As expected
After using a Telex 750, using this Telex 8 makes a Great difference. Works Great in the noisy 737 cockpit. ANR without adicional batiereis is the key to Buy it rather than others.
