Tommy Hilfiger Women's Three-Quarter Down Coat with Slimming Side Panels

I ordered a size small after reading the reviews. I am 5' 6" and 135lbs with an athletic build. The small fits well except for a little snugness in the shoulders. I can fit a fairly heavy sweater underneath. I was hoping it would be thicker and warmer--the kind of coat you can throw on over your pj's to walk the dogs--but it's definitely more of a layer. It is fairly water-resistant: the water beads up on the surface instead of getting absorbed. Someone else mentioned that the hood is annoying because you can't snug it down. True. The belt is a little high, and it's so light that it slides right out of the loops. I had to tie it in a knot to the rear belt loop so it wouldn't keep falling off completely. Also the stitching is already starting to pill up and I've only had the coat 1 week. However, I *love* the color (ordered the navy--I'd describe it as a cross between navy and aubergine) and shape, though I'm not entirely sure I agree that the side panels are "slimming".

I bought the chocolate color in a size large. I'm currently a ladies size 12, so I found the large to be true to size. The construction is solid and it gives a lot of warmth with minimal volume (so you don't have to walk around feeling like the Michelin man). It's very stylish as well. A solid choice for a winter coat at a reasonable price.

I was so excited when I got this coat--a great deal for a high quality coat. The down is so light and soft that it feels like there's polyester filling, but the insulation is very warm lays smoothly. Flattering fit.I ended up returning this coat, sadly, because the hood has no pull string, etc, and while I loved the look of the coat, the windy snow weather we get in Chicago convinced me that I CANNOT live without a well-fitted hood. This hood just "lays" on your head very loosely with lots of empty room on both sides, and will blow off at the slightest wind. If you do not actively hold the hood closed, it will fly down.

This really is a nice coat, and I got it for a killer price..... but the zipper disintegrated - there is no other word for it - in less than a month of having it. The top part of the zipper just seemed to decompose in a very strange way and fall to bits. I took it to a local tailor to have it fixed. Sure enough, he pointed to the wall where a coat exactly like mine had the same problem with a zipper. I think for a coat this pricey (even though I got it for more than 70% off) the quality should be a LOT better.After replacing the zipper for $12 at the tailor I hope it will last.

While the jacket itself is obviously very very well made - the size Large is NOT made for a size 16 woman like me. I couldn't even get the placket to close. It is made for a woman who is built straight up and down -- no hips or thighs and that ain't me. I sent it back and got a refund. Overall, I find that clothing made in China never fits me -- it's always way smaller than the size number would indicate. (Yes, this was made in China).

This jacket fit as I expected because I read the other reviews which stated that it was snug in the shoulders. Typically, I wear an 8 or a 10 petite pants or dress, and a large petite blouse or sweater. In terms of misses, this translates to a size 8 pant and a medium shirt. I got the large and with a sweater or sweatshirt on it fits comfortably, although not terribly roomy. I hope this helps others with the fit issue. Returning online items is a pain.

I had been wanting to purchase a (Long Belted Coat) for quite some time now, but it seemed that most of the "Long Coats" that I saw in store or online, weren't belted and personally, I feel that a belt on a coat tends to flatter the figure, thinning the waste line and emphasizing the body's natural curves. I decided to purchase this coat because, first of all it had a slimming feature, the ribbing on the sides are a fabulous addition and absolutely does have the thinning affect and secondly, it had the belt, but.....all of the additional benefits of this coat has made me a very SATISFIED shopper. Just to mention a few, ALL OF THE POCKETS, Wow, what woman does not want extra pockets to store gloves and other on hand items???!!! Also the removable hat is a must with me and a great PLUS, I love having the option to wear the coat WITH or WITHOUT the hat, I think that's AWESOME, to have options is a WIN/WIN for me and lastly, but definitely not least, the length is perfect, I wanted a LONG Coat, but did not want to feel as if the coat swallowed me up and made me disappear, I did not want a coat that was so LONG that it would interfere with my walking, as some very long coats tend to do. This coat was the perfect length, perfect fit, perfect color and most importantly had so many more added elements which made me.....ONE HAPPY SHOPPER!!! =-] THANK YOU because I AM LOVING MY NEW COAT <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

I'm a large most of the times but could be medium as well. Ordered both to find the best fit. Large fits well above the waist but is too big below to keep the warmth - like an umbrella. The medium is good below the waist but shoulders and arms are too tight. Have to return both. The coat is thin for a down coat. Don't think it works in very cold weather.
