My Experience with the Hilo Blood Pressure Monitor Bracelet: A Game-Changer
Having personally tested the Hilo Blood Pressure Monitor Bracelet, I can confidently say this device has exceeded my expectations and become an invaluable tool for managing my health. It came highly recommended by my doctor for its continuous monitoring capabilities, and I now understand why. Key Features & My Experience: Doctor Recommended: This device was specifically recommended to me by my doctor, giving me great confidence in its reliability and accuracy as a medical device. Effortless Setup and Connectivity: I found the initial setup process incredibly straightforward. Connecting the bracelet to the accompanying app was seamless and intuitive, getting me started with tracking almost immediately. Comfortable for 24/7 Wear: A major highlight is how comfortable the bracelet is to wear. I've worn it continually, day and night, and it's surprisingly lightweight and non-intrusive, making consistent tracking genuinely practical. Excellent Battery Life: The battery life has impressed me, easily meeting the minimums stated by the company in the listing and marketing materials. Continual BP Tracking with Insights: The 24/7 tracking provides incredibly useful data, giving me a comprehensive overview of my blood pressure fluctuations throughout different times of the day and night. The app insights are clear and helpful for understanding trends. Even the small gaps in monitoring are explained. Don't believe the marketing hype
Expensive and rebranded old tech. Don't get caught by the marketing hype like I did! For a 'medical' grade device, the data collected is ok but way below what you would expect from the subscription price on top of the purchase price. Connectivity is not automatic and you need to manually synch it each day??? Constantly needs calibration and it takes a lot to get used to wearing it. Cheap plastic strap catches your arm hairs and is uncomfortable, for the price they have not got much right with this device. Software is clumsy, charger is outdated and really fiddly to use. Why no wireless charging? Would I reccomend it, no there are better and cheaper options available 😉

Smart health tracking tool!
I've been using the product for around 6 weeks so far and wanted to give it a few days before sharing some balanced feedback given the high price point of the product. As a note to the manufacturer, the product is nicely packaged, however the instruction booklet provided has text that is far too small and very difficult to read as a first time user looking to go through the setup process. An online PDF file was much easier to follow. The product itself is also nicely designed, but the bracelet strap length is a bit too short (for me) and it comes with an older USB-A to micro USB type B charging cable (rather than the newer USB-C technology). A big pain point with my initial setup experience was the registration process. The app itself works fine, directing you to create an account, but after attempting to register my details, the app refused to let me login, stating that the login credentials are invalid. I went around the block several times over trying to login to my new account on day 1, thinking I was going crazy. After multiple failed attempts, I decided to give up, then to realise that Hilo need 24 hours to register your new account in their system. Unfortunately, Hilo don't do a great job of communicating any of this to customers. I came back to it the next day and things progressed to the next stage: CALIBRATION Calibration itself was relatively smooth, but could be better. The first step of the phone recognising the band worked fine, but the process looked like it may breakdown at the second 'cuff' step. The first two attempts of calibrating the band and cuff did not work, but I then thought the cuff may need to inflate and deflate a few times to best figure out how to do it most effectively (i.e. averaging some readings out). The third attempt was successful so don't be alarmed if it doesn't work straight away as one might expect. Following on from the initial stumbling blocks, I have had one or two issues with skin irritation, but that's probably the result of my skin being sensitive. I find that I sometimes need to take a break without the band to help reset things around my wrist (usually overnight). The strap can cause my skin to 'break' and I have experienced mild 'redness' under the sensor. I think this could be addressed with flexibility for a longer strap and potentially a different type of plastic/rubber compound though. The band itself takes multiple BP readings per day (I have around 2100 readings to date) and you are able to access the % of time your readings are in the 'target range'. You can assess readings on a daily, weekly or monthly basis via the app during your initial 30-day free trial. Outside of blood pressure (BP) readings, I can also see Heart Rate metrics and you have the ability to set daily sync reminders, manually log your sleep patterns and medication and to join the Hilo community if desired. Overall, they say high BP is the silent killer and I think the device promotes awareness of underlying health issues pretty well (although I don't really have anything else for comparison). Assuming the data is as accurate as it claims on the manufacturer website, it could end up being worth its weight in gold if it leads to action that helps saves lives. I am still figuring things out and have used this product and related readings for a consultation with my doctor recently. I have had consistent high blood pressure for a number of years and trend analysis has now helped me get the support I think I need to be approved for a trial of BP medication. On the rare occasions that surgery reception staff have allowed me to visit my GP in the past, I've been told my 24-hr BP readings are not considered high enough to justify medication, but this device is telling me otherwise, as I'm averaging 150/89 since using it. The data gives me greater ammunition for a more productive conversation with my doctor to limit the risk of any further issues developing. All things considered, I feel it's a 5 star product with helpful data insights, albeit with a bit of a clunky setup experience.

Nice idea, badly designed cuff and software
The band itself is unobtrusive and light and the app looks professional. The cuff however disconnects during calibration even after multiple attempts, meaning you have to begin the calibration process again and again. I managed to get this working once and never again. The support process is also slow with a chatbot rather than being able to speak to someone. I will be returning this and cannot recommend it. The premise is indeed promising but this needs to be developed properly.

Super Produkt.

Seems to work very well though i have not been able to confirm its accuracy. So far I am very satisfied especially as it says my BP is normal now having been high for the first 4 days of calibration. Hope its not just telling me what I want to hear.

The HiLo bracelet is a solid product, but it does require some initial setup to get the best results. It comes with a cuff that you must use to validate and adjust the bracelet's readings. Once I went through that pairing process, the accuracy improved significantly compared to when I first started using it. That said, compared to my doctor’s office, the bracelet still reads moderately higher. It measures about every 30 minutes and averages those into 2-hour blocks, which is great for seeing trends. The battery life is excellent—it can easily last a week, though the USB charging dock is fast enough that I usually just top it up every few days.
