Unique learning potential
I had used this book at ODU for instruction for a tutorial weaving class. As a tutorial I had no other instruction. Once I understood the basic ideas it was a snap. I followed the instructions to make a sampler. It turned out even better than I expected and now I have so many ideas I want to pursue. I made the sampler in burnt orange and Kelly green. I wanted contrasting colors to bring out the different design elements. So now I had to have my own book as a reference source. Best investment ever

A must have for the serious weaver
Jennifer Moore is an amazing weaver. I've been studying her work for the past four years or so. While I missed the chance to get an earlier edition of this book at regular price, I seized the opportunity to get the revised edition ... twice! Moore's book is excellent and worth it. If you seriously want to learn double weave, this book is a must have. However, for pick up double weave, you must check out Ulla de Lario who devised a system of tie ups to speed the whole process along. Happy double weaving.

EXCELLENT BOOK, CLEAR ILLUSTRATIONS AND GOOD EXPLANATIONS.
THIS BOOK ADDRESSES SEVERAL ISSUES I HAVE ENCOUNTERED WHILST TRYING TO DEVISE A WAY TO DO MANY OF THE SAME THINGS WHICH THIS AUTHOR HAS EXPLAINED. I WAS READY FOR THE INFO AND DELIGHTED TO ADD THIS BOOK TO MY LIBRARY AND LOOK FORWARD TO PUTTING THE INFORMATION IT CONTAINS INTO PRACTICE..

Advice and instructions from a Master!
This is a weaving technique that's not for everyone. It requires a lot of thought and planning and more than a lot of patience! This is a book that's long over due. While the technique is not for beginners, the book is worth having in your library whatever your level of expertise. I had the original book and was glad to see the revised edition come out.

Un bel testo. Dispiace non averlo in italiano. Si fatica in inglese e con linguaggio tecnico.

This book told me exactly what I needed to know to get started with a double weave project.

Having read this book, and wanting to do another double weave blanket to get something wide and long from my 24" wide loom, I read, understood, warped up and got weaving. Not interlacing he layers but keeping them on shafts 1/2 and3/4 makes it a lot easier to get your head round. THis book has a great exercise described that takes you through all the combination and permutations of what can be done with a double warp - not just double width projects. I have bought the cotton to give it a go. I wanted to do my blanket first. My second double weave project . The first was on a RHL with a hairy yarn... I did it but it was very painful. I have a four shaft table loom. The book covers 4 and 8 shafts so there's something for everyone, and when shaft envy gets the better of us as it surely will for most, this book has room to grow. I would say this book, with it's no nonsense, clear approach is a "must-have" for any hand weaver. Escpecially beginners.
