Good Night Little Turtle Review: This book is Genius (from a grandparent) - I'm an educator, and I also have the delight of our grands, a 4-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl, staying for the weekend with us from time to time. I bought this little book online to help with their bedtime routine, and couldn't be more pleased. The first time we read it--last month, they loved it, and wanted to read it again and again. This past weekend, they went right to the book as the one they wanted to read. The book is genius in its simplicity and length, and its trajectory, of bedtime routines, then turning out the lights and going to sleep. Every parent and grandparent's wish! What blew me away was when it was finally time for little turtle to get in its bed(after telling all his friends goodnight). Then, mama turtle reads to little turtle a book as part of his routine, and the page shows their book pages within the larger book — so cute. That is a very brief story, then the little turtle is tucked in and goes to sleep. And our kiddos did much the same. A simple book, reasonable cost, fun pictures, good length for littles, and well written by someone who obviously knows what they are doing. Review: Good book - My 4 year old loved to listen to this story. It's a good book to get him to want to go to sleep.

Great bedtime story
Really sweet and simple children’s story about different animal characters enjoying their day and then getting ready for bed. Helps bedtime feel cozy and safe. Beautiful illustrations. I would also recommend this sweet little book for adults who have trouble sleeping.

cute rhyming book for bedtime
This book was very cute. It’s a nice rhyming book perfect for bed time. Not too long and not too short where my 1yo would get tired of paying attention.

Little one loved the rhyming and repetitive words. He knew just what to say when he saw the goodnight parts! Loved this book!

Brilliant - works better than sleep medicine
Our twins - currently 3-and-a-half - used to take ages to get to sleep. We even tried "natural" medicines like Melatonin, and while that worked great in helping them go to sleep in 15 minutes or so, we found them waking up middle of the night with left over energy from before they went to sleep. The best way seemed to be to let them fall asleep themselves, rather than forcing their bodies to do so. Falling asleep themselves meant calming down internally, and there was no "left over energy" to wake them up middle of the night. We tried music, then books, then the Kindle readers on our tablets - as the books got damaged, lost, or generally unavailable at bedtime. After randomly trying out many Kindle books for 3-5 year age range, we gravitated towards the Lily Lemon Blossom series, and then this book - "Good Night Little Turtle" - and another very similar book - "The Zebra Says Shhhh". Lily Lemon Blossom books are great to capture their attention and get them lying down and listening / looking at the books on tablet readers. The Good Night Little Turtle and/or Zebra Says Shhhh are heavy artillery that come out once the kids are calmed down - or about 1 to 2 Lily Lemon books down the line. Both of these books have the same theme - reiterating the fact that the animals are going off to sleep on about every other page. The kids seem to love this. The turtle and all his friends go to sleep - including the tiger, who features in a story-in-a-story for the turtle to listen to before the turtle goes to sleep. I've rarely had to read this book twice. I have no idea how it works, but this is amazing.

Story started out ok, turtle visiting friends but then there is a new story introduced with a terrible segue and focusing on a lion when I bought this book for a turtle lover. Half the book met the specification but ended terribly. I was also disappointed by the quality because the pages are thin and give the impression it has been printed at home. The book also lacks a copyright page also suggesting that it is printed privately and thereby affecting the print quality.

Sweet little book with a story to suit various ages, including pre-school. Just need to be aware the story is American so changed Mom to Mummy.
