I bought because our state now requires us to separate our food garbage. We kept a big clear plastic food storage container under the sink for the first four months, and it was a pain because we had to work to pull off the lid that sealed on, something you don't want to do when you've got food garbage in your hand. The thing got gross, so I ordered this cute container to replace it. It comes with a small bucket inside of the decorative can. I love that you can pull the bucket out by the drop handle when you want to dump it and not have to touch the bucket. My husband doesn't care for it because the bucket is smaller than the yucky container we were using, but I love it and I've now taken over the job of emptying it. We keep a five-gallon bucket with a lid in the garage and I take the small bucket out once a day, sometimes more often, and dump it into the big bucket, which we dump into the trash can just before trash pick-up. The bucket in the cute can is easy to just rinse out in the sink, and sometimes I clean it with some disinfectant spray and wipe it with a paper towel. The outside can is easy to wipe down if and when it gets anything on it. I bought a package of the filters that go into the lid, and I've only changed it once in the two months that we've had it. It does not stink at all. With the lid on, which includes a handle that sticks up, it fits under the large garbage disposal under our sink. I do have to pull it out to the floor to dump things in it, or I am perfectly comfortable putting it in the sink or on the countertop when I'm chopping vegetables and creating a lot of food refuse. It's so cute and clean that I don't mind it being on the countertop, though I don't want to keep it there all the time; it is a garbage can, after all. I highly recommend it for a home kitchen; it's well made and is very attractive, especially considering that it's a garbage can. You can get larger ones, but I liked the looks of this one and needed a short one to fit under our disposal. I looked at a lot on-line and this had the largest refuse can for its height. If you create a tremendous amount of food garbage, however, this one may be too small for you. As for me, it's perfect.

Love this little compost bin! The inside cover/bucket is so nice to have because you just pull it out and clean it! I bought the compost bags too, which is nice to keep the bucket clean. Regardless, its nice to lift it out and be able to clean it easily. Its also nice that the bag liner doesn't stick out of the container. It all tucks away nicely and looks nice on the countertop.

Love the plastic liner I can take out and wash. Good size and attractive.

The bin works well, and there is no odor. It holds enough that with our 2 person household we only have to empty it a couple times a week. The plastic insert has its own handle, so if you fill it with a lot of heavy stuff you can just pop it out for emptying if you don't want to use a bag.

Quality is great! Stylish look in my kitchen. I love composting and this bin makes it easy. No smell! I love the easy to use bags that are also compostable. The bags are included which makes the value for the money even better! A must have!!!!

I got this to replace the OXO one that I had. I really like that the bucket comes out so that you can clean it. It's a bit small even for being in a two-person household, but at the same time, you don't exactly want it hanging in your kitchen for a long time either. It's really cute on the counter and I like that it's labeled a compost so that even visitors can use it because they know what it's for! It was a bit pricey for what I would have expected, but do like it and think the filter aspect is nice too!

The compost bin looks so pretty in my kitchen, it has a smaller bin inside that helps in keeping it clean and what’s great is the cover has a charcoal disc that keeps the smells inside the bin. I love it!

This is a great functional counter compost can. Looks attractive. Easy to clean. Capacity works well. No smell. I empty it and bury the contents in my yard for the soil microbiome about once a week. My plants are loving it. The only thing is that if you fill it too full the filter on the lid gets gunked up and you'll have to wash it out. Comes with an extra filter which is a nice bonus. Decent price.

I recently painted my kitchen and decided to treat myself to all new accoutrements for the kitchen. One thing being a cute compost container rather the ugly plastic monstrosity that I've been using. This item was the cutest little compost bin. May be too small for larger families, but for just us two, it is perfect. It even fits in one of the kitchen drawers, should I want it to be out of sight (that charcoal filter is a great idea) but it's so cute, I may never tuck it away in a drawer!!

This is really nice quality. It's painted metal with decent weight, and the liner is thick plastic, so easy to keep clean and it has a handle for lifting it out. It looks great in the kitchen. The size is perfect.
