Poor fit to existing Datashur device
I like the Datashur products and would normaly be happy to recommend them. However, one of the points of the system is the ability to change SD cards. This card fits so poorly that the push in/push out mechanism for ejecting them simply doesn't work and it requires a pair of tweezers to ease it out. Poor quality, given the price of the product. Very sad, given how clever this device is/ought to be.

I bought this to back up my data in separate locations. I use one microSD card for my family photos, one for my personal identification documents and the other for work files which I needed to protect for privacy reasons. By purchasing the datAshur SD I only need to buy additional microSD Cards for more storage rather than keep spending money on new flash drives.

the idea of this device is very good, handling is starting to get complex one can use only the device (datashur SD) for the SD cards which were opened whith the specific datasur stick. The problem is if one wants to clone more sticks one need to register the datashure stick on "Windows" online only (windows supported) unlock it online and than clone it, this is imense insane why would one unlock such a device online on windows to send yoor data to a company which can than access your pin and later your data ? I just set up 4 datashur SD for 2 days they will now land whit the device in the fire.

The “encrypted SD card” is a scam in disguise — the SD card itself is just a normal card. All the encryption happens in the Datashur USB stick. Nice idea in theory, but in practice it’s a nightmare. Once paired, the SD card is locked to that one stick only. Want to clone another stick? Brace yourself: you must register it online (Windows only), unlock it online, and let the company sit in the middle of your “secure” process. That means handing over your PIN and trust — exactly what a secure device should never force you to do. I spent two days and realized how insane the system is. Why would anyone in their right mind send their unlock keys through Windows to a third party? With a Raspberry Pi, I can encrypt any SD card myself without lock-in, without spyware-style “online unlocks,” and without losing control of my own data. I returned it. and now - still waiting for my money will update how long it took
