My daughter absolutely loves experimenting with hair colour not just for Halloween, but for special occasions at home and at school too. If this review were entirely up to her, it would easily be five stars! She loves how vibrant the red shows up and how quickly it transforms her look. It sprays on easily, the colour payoff is great, and it stays in her hair for a solid amount of time throughout the day. From a parent’s perspective, I’m giving it four stars. The only downside is that some colour can transfer onto pillows or clothing, even after it’s been in for a few hours. We’ve learned to plan ahead using an old towel around her shoulders during application is a must, and being mindful of light-coloured fabrics afterward definitely helps. Other than that, it’s a really fun and easy-to-use product. We’ve purchased it multiple times and will continue to do so. There are some fantastic colour options available, and my daughter absolutely loves them. If you’re okay with a little extra laundry, it’s a great temporary hair colour choice!

I bought the L’Oreal Paris Colorista 1-Day Washable Temporary Hair Color Spray in Red for my daughter’s Halloween costume. It was easy to use and dried pretty quickly without making her hair feel stiff or sticky. I liked that it washed out completely with one shampoo and didn’t leave any stains behind. The only downside is that it didn’t show up very well on her dark brown hair, even after we sprayed several layers. You could see a hint of red in bright light, but it wasn’t the bold color we were hoping for. Overall, it’s a fun and easy product for temporary color, but it works best on lighter hair.

Bought it to color my sons mohawk, which worked great considering it isn’t touched much. If he touched it even a little bit, the color transfer was awful—his whole hands or anything his hair touched would turn red, though it washes off most things pretty easily (we managed not to get it on clothing, but did get some on our couch but it washed out just fine with dish soap). Application is easy though it splatters a bit. It doesn’t go on entirely even but color is very vibrant and is easy to layer/touch up. Washes out very easily with shampoo but ever-so-slightly stains the scalp for an extra wash or two. Overall, would recommend for a mohawk or part of an updo that won’t be touched or touch anything. Would not recommend for long hair or for a child who can’t follow direction enough to not transfer the color. Would only use if going to shower at the end of the day/event.

The first time I used this (red) I used it on all my hair. It was an amazing color, but it got all over everything: my face, my linens, my clothes, my boyfriend, everything. After about a dozen washes, it had faded to a light pink, but it needed a few more washes to come out completely. Since then, I’ve used it only to put streaks of color in my hair. That works better, although it still comes off on my pillowcases.

I have dark brunette hair and this red showed up really well and better than anything else I tried. I used it for a costume so I only needed one day of use. I tried to used hair spray to set it but the color bled all over my skin and clothes. It didn’t come out until the 3rd wash and it was still rubbing off on my clothes in the meantime so just be careful! Luckily it wipes off of hard surfaces well and most came out of my clothes once washed. For a costume it’s perfect, but be aware it will rub off on you and other people. Also, if you have long or thick hair, you’ll need 2 cans.
