Nice little shiv
Maybe use this as an ice pick or make a hole in some coconuts or something. It's definitely better than the curved pick I have in my tool bag. Saw the price wasn't so bad here, considering it's a Wera. My first choice was going to be Channellock, but went with this one in terms of shape and size and striking area.

Best metal punching hand Awl
For some time I have been frustrated in the lack of good quality hand Awls with a stem length of at least 4" and a good taper as an obsolete American made model I used to purchase. I rely on these to punch through stamped steel. This model is everything that I required with a full-length (through the handle) shaft, medium taper and even a tad longer than my previous models. Also the handle has a nice ergonomic shape for the palm of your hand.

good heavy shaft
Good solid scratch awl with thick shaft. Handle is somewhat short which some people prefer.

Simple but good.
As I've mentioned, this is a simple tool but the shaft extends all the way through. If you strike it with a hammer you are striking the shaft not the handle, I would assume this tool would last longer for this reason. Seems to be the right size and weight for typical awl use. Basically, you could use this for starting nails/screws in wood or scoring soft metals.

Really great quality awl, tang through handle so it can be hammered. Punches right through ductwork and good for a centre punch. Very hard material, holds a point well. I made a little sheath for it out of a cheap ball point pen tube.
