Salvation jane
Amazing product. Pai is by far the best skincare company for sensitive skin. Hydrates , and never breakout using their products I couldn’t recommend them enough.

Superb
Yes, this is an expensive initial outlay - but there are quite a few mitigating factors. Firstly, it’s a 50ml pump action dispenser, so it’s already a good size and significantly larger than other serums and moisturisers. I use 2 small pumps on the palm of my hand, warm the cream with my fingers then spread it over my face and neck, that’s ample and gives me the right coverage so this will last me ages and ages. Making it, in my book, actually very good value for money. Secondly, it’s packed, literally packed, with all the good stuff - organic, vegan, B Corp registration (in fact, credentials up to your eyeballs, but incidentally don’t get this in your eyes!). Thirdly, it’s got hyaluronic acid, which for my 64 year old skin is an absolute must. Plus the Salvation Jane of course, which is seriously effective too. And last but definitely not least, the packaging is helpful, with bags of information inside and out (the box unfolds, I’ve tried to show it in my photos) and completely recyclable. So that’s all the good stuff. A couple of things worth mentioning - this contains nuts, listed on the ingredients in full view and there’s also a warning right at the top of the bottle, so be aware of that. It’s also advised to use it in the morning but actually, I then use a primer before my make up so I’d prefer not to cover it all up or have to wait ages for it to sink in. So I use it at night, then it can really penetrate my upper skin layers without hindrance while I sleep, and I wake up with dewy (not greasy or patchy) skin. I’m new to this brand and actually I’ve only had the product for a short while but I’m incredibly impressed so far. This is like balm to my skin which is sensitive, still has dry and oily patches even at my advanced age yet this evens it out. Even my husband, not normally noted for his observation skills (I had 3 inches lopped off my hair and nope, didn’t notice a thing) mentioned how soft my skin was the other morning. Result, in my book, and I can feel it myself. For an excellent quality product, with superb credentials which will last me many months, I’m beginning to think the value is pretty darned reasonable….

Lovely Nourishing and Calming Anti Ageing Moisturiser
I have always been impressed by Pai Skincare so I was looking forward to trying Salvation Jane Moisturiser. It is part of their Age Confidence range and contains Hyaluronic Acid and Echium. Hyaluronic Acid is well known for its anti ageing properties but I had not heard of Echium. Apparently it is a plant which calms and nourishes the skin and has the nickname Salvation Jane hence the name of the product. My name is not Jane but I definitely need some skin salvation as medication, stress, cold weather and (though I hate to say it) ageing mean my skin is in need of some serious TLC! The first Pai product I had I couldn't work out how to get into the box! Now I realise it opens from the bottom and then you open it out completely to get further info about the product - just a tip in case you don't realise either! Although it is still early days, I think this moisturiser is great. It has a light texture and quickly absorbs into the skin, which is a bonus if you are in a hurry and want to apply makeup which I often do. My skin can be sensitive, and is currently going through a bad patch, but the moisturiser did not cause any reaction and is actually really calming. It is a lovely product to use and makes your skin feel really soft and nurtured. Pai are a really good brand and create products that are a little bit different and I have found them to be really effective. That being said, this is not a cheap product, so it is a considered purchase, but if you are looking for an anti ageing moisturiser that hydrates, calms and softens your skin then this is a great choice,

Sits on skin
It’s not often I really dislike a skincare product but I did not get in with this at all. This is a premium product with a high price point and beautiful packaging so I had high expectations. The first thing I noticed is that the cream had a really peculiar smell - I guess it’s botanical though I can’t put my finger on exactly what it smells like, but I really didn’t like it. I found it very off putting. The best I can say about the scent is that it doesn’t linger throughout the day, but the initial smell was strong enough that it made me want to wash my hands. The cream itself is really thick, but not in a good way. It sat on my skin and didn’t skin it at all. It felt like a film on my face kind of like a face mask or a thick suncream . So much so that it made my skin feel tight and sweaty. It made me want to go and wash it off my face. I also didn’t find the product particularly hydrating, but maybe that was because of the above issue that it didn’t sink in but my skin felt no different than when I use a standard drugstore moisturiser. I’ve used this once but I can’t imagine I will ever use it again because it felt so horrible on my skin. On the upside, despite being so thick and heavily scented it didn’t cause any kind of reaction.

Effective ... but oh so expensive!
This moisturiser certainly does its job effectively and had good provenance - but it really does come with quite a hefty price tag. The product comes in a pump action dispenser. The manufacturer claims that 1-2 pumps should be enough to cover your face & neck. However, I would suggest that it is more likely to require 2-3 pumps, as the cream is quite thick and the coverage isn't that great as a consequence. The moisturiser is pleasant enough to apply, although as I mentioned, the consistency is on the thick side. This does not contain any sun protection factor, but it has a similar feel about it to other day creams that do include SPF. Over time the moisturiser is absorbed quite nicely - but it doesn't happen quickly, so if you are planning to apply make-up on top of this cream, then it would be best to make sure you have enough time to apply this a good hour or so beforehand. However, the biggest downside for me is simply the cost of the product. Yes, it is good and yes, it does use quality ingredients and have solid provenance ... but nonetheless, £59 (at time of writing) for a mere 50ml strikes me as being too steep. I hope you find these comments helpful.

Facial moisturizer
Salvation Jane is facial moisturizer by Pai, I am unfamiliar with the brand. It is supposed to hydrate, plump and improve the appearances of fine lines and wrinkles. You only really require two small pumps of cream from the nozzle. It has a thick consistency one massaged on face it feels quite light. It does not leave a shining or dry look but just right. I don't have wrinkles or fine lines so I can't comment. I would say it does hydrate and leave my face supple. This product made from natural ingredients and vegan friendly. To be honest for a facial moisturizer I find it very expensive as there are other products which can achieve the same outcome. This is just my personal opinion to each to their own. This was reviewed under the Vine programme.

Amazing product. My skin looks much better
A little reading around Pai, who I had previously not heard of- shows a company committed to organic, vegan friendly products, with a founder who had suffered her own skin problem- urticaria-and so researched the market to create her own range, according to her own ethos. But does it work? It does. I found the moisturiser quite rich when first applied, but it sinks into the skin quickly and isn't greasy at all. There isn't too much of a scent- I certainly didn't pick up rose geranium or grapefruit- but it smells fresh. It definitely smooths skin, and plumps a little, it isn't a miracle cure, obviously, but it seems to even my skin tone too. The ' Salvation Jane ' of the title is an alternative name for the Echium plant, which the moisturiser contains. Another name for it is purple viper's-bugloss, but I think they were better sticking with Salvation Jane! The only downside is the pump action dispenser is a little fiddly, but that could be my own ineptitude. Sometimes I don't seem to get a full squirt. Still, a minor hiccup, and I have actually had someone tell me my skin looks good whilst using it, so I am very happy!

Luxury in a bottle
I absolutely love Pai skincare. They have such lovely products which I use in my daily routine. This is a new product for me and I couldn't way to try it for my dry skin. It has a beautiful scent and although it is a rich cream, it soaks well into the skin and does not leave a greasy shine. The texture is amazing and feels heavenly on the skin. It leaves a subtle but very healthy-looking glow on the skin once it's applied. It is a very nourishing face cream. My skin feels much softer after using it for a few days. It is so creamy and provides deep moisture for my skin. There is no miracle with a pot of cream but this is close to delivering a miracle. Definitely recommend it.
