It says it’s a thickefy foam, but it doesn’t do anything to thicken the hair. It’s a root lifter. My favorite root lifter! Comes out similar to mousse. I am able to only use 2 pumps, and I apply at the roots along my face. It creates lots of volume, doesn’t leave a crispy texture, and it doesn’t weigh my super fine hair down. It leaves my hair feeling soft, without flyaways, and looking much thicker and fuller. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s a quality product. I’ve never seen it cheaper than the Amazon price. This is one of my daily must-have items. Super excited to see that Amazon carries it!

I have short hair & this product helps to give it more volume. It is like all the Sebastian products I have used, very effective.

I love the hair product and have ordered it many times. This time, it did not come with a lid. It’s a pump hair mousse. It pumped mousse on the inside of the packaging.

This stuff really works! I don’t like the way my hair feels when I use most mousse or gel products, but this one doesn’t leave a greasy or heavy buildup requiring daily washing. It gives my hair much needed body.

I didn’t use any heat protection because I don’t like it when it alters my hair’s movement making it stiffer. However, this product is awesome! I have very thin hair and live in very humid climate; my hair gets frizzy as soon as I walk outside. But not with this product. I’m able to stay outside for an extended period of time and not worry about my hair. A little goes a long way. If you put too much on then it will look stiffer it took me several attempts until I found the right amount for my hair. I will always use this going forward.

Like that it holds well but light weight and hair feels clean. Some don’t like the smell, but I think it’s fine. Only problem was whoever sold the last bottle I received through Amazon taped up a broken cap to where it could not be seen until I opened it and it won’t stay on the can which will shorten the life of the can through evaporation. Bad seller

This product got sticky and did not add much volume to my hair. Made my hair oily.

Does make hair feel and look thicker

I have short, thin, fine, flat hair that needs a lot of help when it comes to styling. I've been using this styling mousse for many years. I have to use about 5 to 7 pumps at a time depending on how close I am to needing a haircut I am but even at 7 pumps there is never a sticky residue on my hair and my hair has never felt weighed down (can't stand sticky, filmy hair). I have a collection of other, similar styling products from other manufacturers that have been sitting and collecting dust which I've been thinking lately, should really be thrown out because I know they're not going to give me the same results. I actually keep a stash of about 3 bottles. I'm a little nervous that one of these days Sebastian going to discontinue the Thickefy (that has happened over the years when I've replied on other of their products). When I've looked back over the years at the hair styling products I've had the best success with they've always been by Sebastian. The results I most appreciate are that my hair remains soft, easily stylable, feels as though there isn't anything in it but I get great volume (no small feat with my thin very flat hair).

I have previously used Living Proof and Bubble and bubble that costs much more. This product is hands down better than them. I have short, fine and straight hair and this hair foam is weightless without residue. Fun fact…. I bought a small foam (100ml) dispenser and now I can pour some of this product in that for travel. Simply amazing. Let’s hope they keep the price down!

I love Sebastian hair sprays and mousses in aerosol format. Decided to give this a try as it has some pretty good reviews, but I think I'll go back to the aerosol version. This one is a bit goopy and leaves my hair somewhat sticky although it DOES give volume. The one thing I love most about this is the scent - it's gorgeous!
