desertcart.com: The Complete Bronte Collection (Wordsworth Box Sets): 9781840227901: Bronte Sisters, Charlotte Bronte, Emily Bronte, Anne Bronte: Books Review: Wordsworth is a good choice for these authors - Im not reviewing the novels themselves (which so far I have deeply enjoyed) but Wordsworth publishing. These books are an incredible value for the price. Some will undoubtedly find the text too small, but it means they can make the books small and easier to hold. They have an elegant design, they are well bound, and crucially they have explanatory notes in the back of the books. Anne and Charlotte use a lot of French passages (especially Charlotte) and you will need the translations Wordsworth provides. They also define archaic words and customs, provide historical context, and occasionally explain how scenes may have been influenced by the authors real life experience. If you have a passion for classic literature and want to try reading the Brontë sisters, Wordsworth is the way to go, as long as you have young eyes that don’t mind small font. I will say that The Professor had a printing error that blurred the text on many pages, but this error is so slight that I can’t even make it apparent in pictures. None of the other books had this issue, nor have the dozen or two other Wordsworth books I’ve purchased. Review: No regrets here! Prefect for my collection - Absolutely beautiful! I love the colors and gold embossing. My only complaint/wish was that I could have seen them in hardback.

Good value
These editions are a good value for the price. They are inexpensively bound and probably wouldn't stand up to multiple uses by careless people but that's not me so I am pleased. I also like the notes in the back with translations of the french speeches in Jane Eyre (my french is a little rusty) and definitions of english words which aren't in modern usage. I read Jane Eyre as a teenager, many years ago now, but recently read "The Bronte Family" by Rebecca Fraser , which was excellent, very readable and which prompted me to buy this collection.

Great value for money.
I can't believe we get all these novels for such a low price. Like Penguin books and Oxford World Classics, these books also come with an extensive commentary and endnotes. My only slight complaint is that the box if a very tight fit for these books. Once you get one book out, it will be quite difficult to put it back in. Also, on my copy of 'The Professor' the print was smeared on every left hand page.

Great books just poor packaging and handling. Damaged boxset.🥺
Love the books ! Waited to get them for years. I always read online or went to the library too check out the books. I now own the set myself. But I just got my delivery and the boxset is torn already. I wasn't expecting to get a new set of books that was damaged.

Bronte Sisters Book Collection
Enjoyed reading these classic books for entertainment and increasing brain activity. Way better than movie adaptation.

Beautiful Book Collection
I bought these because I wanted them on my shelf for my teens to read. They are a beautiful boxed set. One day, when I'm done raising kids, I hope to read them too!

Good size print for weak eyes. One or two blurry pages. Relevant and fairly tasteful book design. Less so for the box with its random and uninteresting quotes but discreet visually. Arrived in good condition. I wish they would make the boxes a bit wider and slip some cards in at the sides for stable delivery. Getting the books in and out without creasing the cover corners is an acquired skill. Could write a guide on tried and tested methods.

The set arrived with the solemn dignity of a long-anticipated guest, its visage handsome, adorned with designs most agreeable to the eye and pleasing to the touch. Though the box bore the faintest scars of its journey, a few errant marks and a modest dent, as though it had weathered a modest storm, the contents within lay undisturbed, serene in their ordered beauty. I find myself compelled to laminate each volume, for the covers, though charming, are delicate things, prone to soil and tear as if they, too, were touched by the frailty of mortal flesh.
