Great product !!! Smart buy !!! I think of it as a great choice for enhancing storage and backing up important data. I found the product to be sleek, hardly taking up any table space. I could easily connect another Seagate 4 TB Backup plus, USB 3.0, external, 'powered' hard drive along with a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 500 GB, USB 3.0 hard drive, which worked flawlessly together. The basic concept is, the two USB 3.0 ports act as additional ports for USB devices expansion. So even if you connect a USB mouse, keyboard, speakers, pen drives or anything which requires a USB port, work here also. Cellphone, power bank charging as well The data transfer speeds entirely depend upon the type of USB port (2.0/3.0) you plug it into. Best part about USB 2.0 & 3.0 is that they are both ways compatible. I've always believed USB, as one of the best inventions and best among interfaces for IT related products. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Regarding Amazon, their network of vendors and delivery services, I had ordered the product at around 9.27 pm on Nov 2, 2018, and it was delivered at 7.59 am (almost a wake up call) on Nov 3, 2018. I have been using one of the 8TB versions since the time it was launched in India. I use it as my backup drive. I recently purchased another 4TB and 8TB variant because of their reliability, costing and speeds that are ranging from 130-190MB/s for read and write both which are excellent for a normal HDD. And an addition of two USB 3.0 ports do come in handy to charge or connect additional devices or hard drives. One thing that users must note is that on windows if its a 4TB hard drive, it'll show 3.63TB of storage, that is because of the way windows file system is made. But on mac OS it will show 4TB. So no, hard drive manufacturers are not duping us of storage, its just the way windows and MAC OS has been made. This drive (Both 4TB and 8TB) works perfectly in all formats, that are : 1) NTFS for windows only 2) Mac OS Journaled for apple eco system 3) FAT32 for compacity across windows and apple ecosystem. If you have the knowledge, you can also buy a 8TB hard drive, remove the casing and install it directly in the PC as this is the cheapest 8TB of storage that you can find in the market. But please note that this would void the warranty of the drive and you will be doing this at your own risk. I've done this with a 4TB hard drive and for me it actually works much better as compared to its original casing.

Seagate hard drive is actually 5.45 TB not 6 as it comes with some software preinstalled on it. Easy to set up and connect. Power supply has interchangeable mains power pins so you can use it anywhere in the world. Two powered USB ports are useful if you are using many USB devices at a time as they act as hub. Seagate white logo lights up only when HDD is actually accessed. Bit bulky compared to compact usb back up HDD. Works straight out of box for windows. Cables are of sufficient length.

Bought this HDD for my Xbox One X and it works like a charm. You get 7.2 TB usable space and the write speeds are awesome! Packaging is also great as it not only comes with all the cables you'll need but also different pin connectors for the different plug points across the world! Overall a solid product from Seagate at a great price!

Please don't buy small form factor HDDs. When they die. They die. These drives are repairable (though don't do it yourself or you'll void the warranty) as they are full 3.5" drives packed in a quality case and power adapter. Speeds are 115MBps-125MBps in read or write (not both) and so far they haven't disappointed. Shoutout to Seagate for understanding and addressing the problems of external drives.

Really good product. Better to purchase this drive rather than buying 2 TB hard disk. Since it also provides extra port for mobile charging. Also speed is quite nice. I am have used Seagate and WD both still i prefer Seagate more because of durability.

I purchased a 8TB Seagate HDD sep2020 which stopped working in 2021 onwards. The issue is the disk inside spins upon connecting sometimes and not but the system doesn't detect any drive. And upon contacting the service center, they said to download a toolkit to resolve the issue. But unfortunately, it didn't work. Then I asked that I have some data so can it be restored, and they said to send it to the Netherlands for data recovery and it's free of cost. But I need to pay the customs duty which is more than the disc cost or depends upon the data content. I mean that's more price than the new 8TB hard disk itself. So I asked only for a replacement. They refused becoz of 2 years of warranty. But theoretically 3 years of extended warranty and data backup is mentioned during the purchase. Afterward, they sent a mail for sending the HDD, and I was tired of that. Finally they asked me to contact the seller of the product. My bad luck that seller was presently out off empanelment in Amazon. I mean what is going on? First of all, it's your product which stopped working without any physical damage, so not my fault. And for the warranty claim, I need to do this much work. Is the Invoice alone and the serial number not enough? I don't know how these people work. I brought into the Amazon customer care last two months still it is not resolved. In the middle of work days, that's quite frustrating. I'm sick of all this trouble and decided to never ever purchase Seagate products. Gunasekaran
