Amazing beard trimmer
I had bought the Peanut to replace my other beard trimmer, from a different manufacturer, when the battery stopped charging. I wanted to get away from worrying about charge time and battery failure. This is a corded unit. It’s small and light. It has a small cutting field which makes it easy to cut around small areas. It comes with blade attachments to control length of cut and did a great job cutting evenly. It has oil to properly maintain the blade and a brush to clean off any debris. There is no case included so I used a 1 gallon freezer bag and it does the job well. For the price it was well worth it. I feel confident that this will be of use to me for a long time for grooming. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great trimmer.

The Peanut Gets it Done!---Update
I have been shaving my head for over 10 years. I have used most every blade, cream, gel or electric razor on the market. The closest shave for me has been a Mach 3 with a shaving gel. However, shaving my head every day with a blade takes a lot of time and alot of Mach 3 razors---Additionally, I am prone to ingrown hairs on the back of my head. Because of these reasons, I thought I would try the peanut. WOW!!!!! What a great product. It does not shave as close as a blade but it is darn close and it shaves much closer than any other clipper out there. (now that I have lots of gray hair, the very close cut looks like a shave) Using the Peanut has solved my ingrown hair issue completely. This little bugger is very well made and has plenty of power. Also, I have NEVER cut myself with it. The best shave will always be a blade but the Peanut gets the job done in a third of the time, with no cuts or ingrown hairs. It's a winner. UPDATE Aug 2009......the Peanut continues to amaze. It cuts just as good as the day I bought it in 2007. No pulled hairs, the white blade guards still snap on firmly and I am still on the original blade! A drop of mineral oil every now and then is the only maintenance I've done. Finally a quality product that works and lasts. Bravo Wahl Bravo!!!! UPDATE FEB 2013...this sucker is STILL going strong. UPDATE Sept 2013...just took the blades apart, cleaned and mineral oiled them. Put it all back together and it works wonderfully! UPDATE August 2014...well, I finally broke down and bought a new blade set for my Wahl Peanut. The old blade set popped off easily using the edge of a nail file under the base. New blade set snapped right on. I let my head and face grow out for three days, and just got done using the new rebladed Peanut. As expected it just cut/clipped wonderfully. The main unit has as much power as ever. The clipper leaves a "one days" growth on my head and face and now, my head and face hair is all the same length, and looks and feels great. This is by far the best shaving/grooming product I've ever bought. And no, I do not have any affiliation with Wahl.

Quality and simplicity
Quality at a very reasonable price. I have been using one of these --- this is my second --- for 15 years, saving literally thousands of dollars when compared to a professional haircut every 3 weeks. And it's very easy to use.

I cut my own hair with it. A quality tool for mustaches and beards.
If I have a few days (or more) of beard stubble, I use this before the razor. This is mainly what I bought it for and it works great, leaves the equivalent of about one day's growth (my growth is about medium, not heavy, not light). I wish I'd had this when I had my beard, it would be an excellent tool for beards. Before I shaved off my mustache, I used the Peanut for trimming and it really worked great! It worked great to shave off the mustache, too. I've removed my mustaches with various tools, and the Peanut is the best yet. I'm a craftsman who enjoys using good quality tools, and this is one of them. I've had the Peanut for a few months now and have used it to cut my own hair, with great results. One day my hair was way too long and it was time to go to the barber. I figured the barber could fix anything I did with the Wahl if I didn't cut it too short, so I decided to give it a try, and I haven't been to the barber since. I cut it when I haven't washed my hair for a few days. I put on the #4 stand-off and buzz it all over the sides and back (I go over it a few times, pausing to use a comb, until I get it to where it looks okay). I don't go too high up on the sides, just a trimmer-width or less over the ears, and somehow the top always seems to come out fine (staying long enough to part and comb nicely). Without any stand-off, I trim around the ears and trim-up the sideburns. With the #2 stand-off, I do my eyebrows. Using a hand mirror, I scissor off the the hair at the back of my neck if it's too long. Then I give it a good shampoo, and the next day if anything needs a little more trim (which about half the time it does) I give it a quick tune-up with the Wahl, and I'm good for about three weeks. This little baby is going to pay for itself pretty quickly, if it hasn't already. The Peanut is fairly quiet, too, doesn't hurt my ears at all. I've had three other electric hair clippers (full size) and the Peanut whips them all for sound and clean-cutting. About those other three: one died, one actually broke and fell apart while I was using it, and one is very dull and does not have replaceable blades like the Peanut. My only CON: I like very pliable cords that tend to hang straight, and this one is a little too stiff and plasticky, but I've seen worse.

NEEDS WIDER RANGE OF GUARDS!!
I've bought the peanut multiple times over multiple years. The corded peanut is my go-to for personal trimming. I've tried other trimmers, cordless trimmers, but the corded peanut has been the best by far. It does wear out eventually. The trimmer part can get removed for cleaning. What I've found is that part seems to break or wear out making the trimmer part not connect back on very well. But, this tends to happen after a few years of use and abuse. I just buy another peanut. What annoys me to no end about the peanut is it comes with a very limited selection of guards that drastically jump in hair length. You've got the unguarded peanut that gives you a close trim. Then you've got a very short guard that maybe leaves 1mm of hair. Then it JUMPS to a guard that leaves like 4-5mm of hair. Then JUMPS again to another guard that leaves 8-9mm. It's ridiculous. I use this thing to trim my goatee once a month when I give myself a haircut. If I use the mid-length guard, hardly any beard hair comes off and I look scruffy. If I use the next smaller guard, which is the smallest guard it comes with, it takes so much off I look like I'm just starting to grow my goatee out. There NEEDS to be a guard length inbetween. I don't know why they only include like 4 guards that jump drastically in hair length. If they included a wider range of guards, this would be a 5-star easy. But, since the lack of guard ranges is what ticks me off the most, I'm docking a star for that. But, this will be your fave personal trimmer. I use it for goatee, intimate areas, and wife uses it for intimate areas, too. You CAN knick yourself using it guardless on intimate areas. So, you will need to be careful. But, this thing is a powerful little trimmer that gets the job done, and will last you a while. (The irony is I've tried Wahl hair cut trimmers and Wahl shavers, and they're all bad. But, somehow Wahl produces this Peanut personal trimmer which is fantastic.)

Great men’s trimmer.
Does a great job on trimming. I had to replace my old one after 20+ years of use.

A good purchase. I recommend this product. But beware, this shaver is quite LOUD!
I love my little Wahl Peanut! I had recently bought a large, barber shop grade Wahl Electric Razor for my hair and beard. And I was NOT disappointed in that razor. It is the best razor I've ever owned. But although it works perfectly for shaving my head and beard, it was a little cumbersome for the mustache / nostril area. It will get the job done but it's a little difficult to maneuver. So naturally I looked for a smaller sized Wahl electric razor and I found this one, the Wahl Peanut. I also couldn't be happier with this razor. It is small but it is big enough. Perfect for keeping a close shadow shave and with an excellent choice of size clips for thicker beards. It works beautifully around the mustache / nostril area, which is exactly what I was looking for. It is comfortable to hold and has a long, thick electric cord that plugs in to a wall socket. So much better than the cordless razors that always fail. The only thing that I can see as being a possible issue for some people is that the Peanut is quite loud. Now, I haven't had it all that long so maybe it calms down with age and gets a little quieter. Having said that, the volume of the Peanut does not bother me at all. And I'm sure many others wouldn't be bothered all that much by it. It's just something I felt should be noted. But as I said, the loudness doesn't bother me at all and therefore I gave this product 5 stars. I do recommend buying this product. The pros far out weigh the cons. UPDATE: Sept 19, 2021 This razor still works exactly the same as before except is has actually gotten louder over time. To be honest I rarely use it anymore. I've since started cutting my own hair with the full sized Wahl and while I'm at it I shave my face as well with the same clip so all my hair including beard and 'stache is all the same length. The Peanut was fun while it lasted but just doesn't hold up over time as the main source of hair trimming. It's great for use in a pinch or when traveling but I just stick with the big guns now.

Great Beard Trimmer
I have been long searching for a face/beard trimmer that i actually like, is easy to use, and wont mar my face with out a guard. For the last 7 years i have used the Gillette trimmer that came with the attachable razor head. This worked well for many years though it wasn't with out its issues. However i don't think it was ever meant to last this long nor to be used how i used it and it finally started to become weak and dull. Plus now growing and maintaining a goatee i needed something that could do more precise edges and that had guards so i could keep it a uniform length. One day at my parents house i started using a rechargeable trimmer that they had and half way threw it died on me leaving me in a panic! I remember my mother (who use to be a beautician, and still did the occasional hair cut for family) had a wahl peanut trimmer. I manged to find it and it was marvelous! I immediately knew i had to have one. Its perfect for precise edging and safe enough to be used with no guard to take the rest of the face down to a 5 o clock shadow. Its very maneuverable even with the cord. Its also not "buzzy" which seem to be common in cheap trimmers. Another reason i knew i had to have one was because of the quality and durability. The one i used that belonged to my mother was at least 10yrs old if not 15 or more and it still preformed flawlessly. The guards are good quality and the 1/8" increments work well for me though i see some would prefer some 1/16th increments. I dont see the cord as a draw back at all. Maybe a compromise but id much rather deal with a cord than have to always worry about recharging a trimmer or worry about it dying half way threw a trim.
