I had no previous experience with a telescope so I knew nothing at all about setting one up. However the spotting scope is adjustable so I started by getting a street lamp in view and then adjusting until the telescope matched. Then I received an email from the seller explaining a few things (unsolicited assistance and much appreciated) and boom! I was able to look at objects in the night sky and easily identify if they were celestial bodies or hovering aircraft, look at the moon, my son and I are now going for planets as they align with our global position. The included tripod wasn’t my favorite but I already owned a nice tripod and was able to convert it for use with the telescope. Neat for beginners and at this price point you cannot complain at all.

This is a great telescope for your astronomically inclined child or for your classroom. It is easy to assemble and comes with several different types of lenses which are great for whatever type of night-time observation you are looking for. The cell phone mount works very well and I've been able to take some great photos of the moon with it.

Pro- lightweight, somewhat easy to assemble.. Cons- instructions book is sparse. I had to guess where some parts go. I also have parts I have no idea where they belong or go. I am still trying to figure out how to use and adjust the lens. For the price- nice try. Next time, a complete owners manual would be handy!

It's a telescope which isn't really easy to use anyways but the tripod it came with only allows for about 30° tilt which isn't great for sky viewing. The telescope itself isnt very sturdy so it's shaky no matter what but it does work well once you get it there. Overall for the price it's a good deal but spend a little extra on something better.

Bought this great little telescope for my daughter as a way to introduce her into star gazing. We are loving it! Much better than I thought and it's fairly easy to use. Setup was quick and painless too. Had everything set up within minutes. I'd definitely recommend this for someone starting out in searching the skies or as a great gift idea.

My grandson loves it, he's always ready to look up at the universe at night. My daughter still has to critique the settings on it, but he loves it.

ive had many scopes and this one is completely junk.... i threw it into the trash barrel

I was looking for a starter telescope and this one that I just bought isn't that bad for the price. My only gripe is that the tripod is not as steady and fluid but it is what it is. I was able to calibrate it easily and tried to look at the moon the other night with great results. After I spend a good amount of time with this, I'm planning to upgrade to a more expensive one.
