Want to be insulted, stalked and emailed daily...complain about this company. UPDATE -Old Strips? Totally unreliable
Updated Review - I've been asked about the reliability issue related to these strips and continue to maintain that these are unreliable at best...and a waste of money at worst. Because one of us has a chronic lung condition, we were able to correlate the fact that these tests are indeed totally unreliable as compared to the gold standard...via an exhaled NO testing in a medical setting. In fact, due to the type of lung condition, NO levels tend to be HIGHER than average (as tested and measured by eNO in a medical setting) yet these strips showed depleted time and time again. Bottom line = unreliable at best. I'm updating this review...not because I'm happy but due to the ridiculous personal attacks and other objectionable response(s) related to the original review. Upon the suggestion of someone else, I did contact Berkely who did take the time to respond...and respond, and respond. Daily. I was busy and not able to implement the ideas right away but found Berkeley to be helpful...if not borderline obsessive but hey, I wish more sellers went to these efforts to make their customers happy. Now, here is the deal...from the email sent by Berekely, there were problems with some strips and they know it. The company seems more than anxious to make it right and normally I would change my review to reflect this fact except for the fact that the original review seems correct...the strips ARE unreliable. I juice fresh daily...with raw beets. I shouldn't have to jump hoops to trouble-shoot the strips for them...I want the strips to work right the first time. I don't want to have conversations via email and I sure don't feel like listening to insults for leaving an honest review. Take a look at the less than 5 star reviews and associated insults...mostly by the same people who either clearly have an input in this product OR have so little life as to hang out on this board waiting for any response to take place so they can send an unsolicited and non-helpful insult. So, not only does my original review remain but now that I have the time to actually follow up on the troubleshooting and other...thanks but no thanks. I don't choose to do business with a bunch of crazy-makers who sit around and stalk people they disagree with. Bottom line...these strips are NOT reliable. They ARE basically idiot-proof, they are a good idea and aside from the questionable tactics demonstrated via this board which I strongly suspect originates with the sellers...I would have reluctantly been willing to help troubleshoot the problem although for the record, it shouldn't be necessary. Instead, I'll eat the cost and move on to a more professional and less cult-ish provider. ORIGINAL POST Spouse and self are both extremely health conscious. We eat raw and leafy greens with every meal, juice with raw beets and other veggies, remain active etc...so, imagine our irritation when we BOTH tested "depleted" each and every time with these strips. Tried in the morning...depleted. Tried in the afternoon...ditto. In the evening. Both male and female on well above average diets with above average activity levels. After spending $35 on 50 strips only to use up a substantial number of the strips to determine they are all but worthless. A nice idea but totally unreliable and ultimately a waste of money.

but i don't like having to fold these strips
Would of given it a 5 star review, but i don't like having to fold these strips, i always end up getting saliva on me! I like the strips that don't have to be folded. The strips work, just that folding is BS.

Hello, & feeling like my former self!
Thank you, these test strips have changed my life and well-being! I have always tested "depleted." I learned about my cardiac Nitric Oxide - Methyl Cycle defects from a cardiologist in Ohio. He augments his care with genetic pathways (predispositions) identified. I use 1 heaping tablespoon of Flora Beetroot crystals @ Noon. I cleaned house, wash 2 bathroom floors, cleaned/polished all wood floors. @ 2pm Tested glucose, BP, and Berkeley Nitric Oxide strips. All good. I have experienced terrific results with Biotta pure Beetroot juice, or, the Flora Beetroot crystals for a lighter flavor in ice water. The Flora bottle does suggest using 1 heaping tablespoon, 4 times per day. To economize, I have not. Bought the Flora crystals, as well as individual packs, @ Amazon. I also gave to my adult children. When you understand the genetic and/or measured correlations, it's more fun to design drinks that taste good & nourish our weaknesses. Thanks, Amazon. BTW: Berkeley Heart Lab had been funded by US Dept Defense, I think @ UC Berkeley. It was aquired by 2 successive companies; Quest Diagnostics owns it now. Apologies if there r any errors. These r brilliant.

No Color Chart with the test strips.
I do like the test strips but I'm very disappointed because there is no color chart for me to check the test result. I would think one would have been on the bottle. Nope. I did watch a video online so I know what color it should be. Color charts should come with each container of test strips.

I tested and it works!
This product works great! To test whether or not it worked, I took a reading before taking L-Citrulline and then 30 and 60 minutes after. Citrulline is a well known precursor of L-Arginine which is then converted to Nitric Oxide. My Nitric levels prior to taking Citrulline was a light pink indicating low levels of Nitric Oxide. After 30 minutes I tested again and the reading was a darker pink, just below the optimal range. After an hour, dark pink in the high range according to the color chart. I tested it the next day prior to and after drinking beet root juice and found the same result. It confirmed to me that it must work since both Citrulline and Beet Root juice are precursors of Nitric Oxide (different pathways). I took 2mg of L-Citrulline capsules and a concentrate of Beet Root. Hope this helps those considering buying the testor kit.

Testing for Nitric Oxide changed my life!
I'm 71 years old, and was suffering embarrassing Erectile Dysfunction. Wife was getting frustrated. These test strips were essential to measure my Nitric Oxide levels. I went from "Depleted" to "High" by taking beet juice, Pomegranate Juice, eating nuts, greens and taking L-Argenine (Sheer Strength brand from Amazon). Within a few days, my terrible Erectile Dysfunction turned into teenage rock hard erections! I am expecting my blood pressure to fall from 145/85 as my new diet & supplements take effect. I highly recommend these test strips to anyone over 40 yrs old to help prevent heart disease, atherosclerosis & erectile dysfunction. High levels of Nitric Oxide is a MIRACLE, I recommend reading books from Amazon.Com on Nitric Oxide to learn more. I'm ordering the book, "No More Heart Disease" & these test strips for my entire family. I find the strips to be consistently accurate.

App is low quality, not maintained
I would have given it a four or five, but the app is full of bugs. At the moment, it's hanging on a white screen following its excessively long splash screen. Suspecting a down server, I went to the site with my Mac. It turns out they forgot to renew the server's SSL certificate. It expired yesterday. No excuse for the app failing to work offline! The timestamps are screwed up (the app doesn't respect the computer's timezone), and they don't respond to bug reports. There is no provision for annotating observations. There needs to be a grid view with room to view annotations. The essential feature of the app, assaying the test strip color with the phone's camera, does work, at least when the app itself isn't hanging. Put the strip under a good light, then position the square over the strip such that the strip's color fills the square. Then tap the screen to record a reading. EDIT: Downgrading from two stars to one, The app remains unusable due to an SSL certificate which expired on Wednesday. It's a trivial fix. The app is abandonware!
