I have used this filter for several years. It does a decent job of removing some bad tastes for the shower water. I typically replaced the cartridges every 4 months and the whole assembly every 24 months. This year I also purchased a shower shut off valve which was easily attached after the Sprite filter assembly. The valve could not be attached before the Sprite filter because of the recess design of the filter, Within a month of using the shower shut off valve, the Sprite filter busted at the seams. I ordered another Sprite filter and discovered a note in the box that the filter could not be used with a shut off valve. OK, so the filter can't handle full line pressure. No problem, I thought. I will just adapt the filter to work after the shut off valve. However. I couldn't locate a good, professional looking adapter. So I contacted the seller about a suggestion. The seller contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer stated that the filter could not be used with a shut off valve, no matter how it was installed. My understanding of plumbing is that the knob I turn in my shower is attached to a shut off valve. So it seems that the company is stating they won't guarantee their product if it is installed in a shower!!. I have to have a shower shut off valve now in California with our drought conditions. Great filter, been using them for 15-20 years now.

I liked this shower filter at first - the water felt great for a few weeks. But after about 4 weeks, it starts losing its magic. It doesn't do much for hard water, just seems to take out some of the chlorine. The 6-month lifespan claim is pretty optimistic, unless you're the only one using it and not very often. For me, replacing it every 2 months is the reality.

Every household in this world should have one of these if we are connected to public water supply because showering in this makes you feel like you are showering in the rain, as it's removes so many of the damaging chemicals from the water plant

The plastic casing that holds the shower filter was screwed on so tight that it cannot be opened to replace the filter.

I live in the San Fernado Valley area of Los Angeles and we have terrible water quality. I move here from the Bay Area where the water is much softer and the change in water hardness completely wrecked my skin. I became ashy, dry and itchy after every shower and noticed that calcium deposits would quickly accumulate on my shower head nozzles. After some careful research, I decided that a shower filter was necessary and bought this model in Chrome from Home Depot. It screws onto the existing shower head easily. I must say if you do not add a layer of teflon plumbers tape, you will get leaks like the other review stated so make sure you do! The filter works great at removing most the chlorine and greatly removes the amount of minerals in the water. My skin is much better now, my soap suds up with great ease compared to before and I haven't noticed any drop in water pressure. This filter is intended for use with a maximum flow rate of 2.5 gallons per minute as stated on the packaging and I can attest for that with my normal shower head which is rated at 2.5 GPH.

Tightened down by a 30 year old male. Still leaks. The replacement they sent, I tightened with a strap wrench and a bench vise. The unit STILL LEAKED. Sprite brand is no longer good quality.

Great so far, this has also made me smell like milk and honey. I researched this and apparently it’s common post shower filter as it allows your natural skin microbiome to rebalance and doesn’t stop/ coat your skin with all the chlorine and heavy metals. Seeing a difference in my skin and hair as well. Will update how long the filter lasts with twice a day usage . So far impressed.

Works well enough I guess. Should come with Teflon tape (leaks otherwise so I had to use some I had on hand)

These are great filters for those who care about all the chemicals that go on your skin and hair when you shower. This is great because it just screws on and you get to use your own shower head.
