I work in a food prep room and needed a waterproof, durable and accurate scale. So far, this unit has more than filled the bill. I chose it because it's supposedly very waterproof and so far, it's exceeded my performance expectations. It sets up and tares faster than the $300 ones provided by the company and it weighs 1/4 as much. It's rechargeable AND accepts AAA batteries. The readout is bright and dims for power conservation. IF it's as waterproof as they claim, I'll be very happy with this purchase. Time will tell but after a month's usage, I would recommend it highly, especially if you work in a wet environment. Update: After several months of daily use, it's proven to be waterproof. I rinse it off and dry it but, per their warning, have never submersed it and it works fine. It occasionally gets "stuck" and after a couple of taps, resumes faithful operation. I think this issue is due to the scale pan getting "stuck" because a light tap or two gets it back to normal. Great product which outperforms the expensive and less reliable Ohaus commercial models we have here. 1 year update: I've used this scale 5 days a week for a 14 months now and it's still as described above. Once every few days, it gets "stuck" as above but a light tap remedies the situation. Do be sure to remove the AAA batteries and dry the compartment if the scale gets wet or else corrosion will form. Absolutely no problem with the display or electronics in spite of daily rinse-offs. The literature states that this scale is not designed for commercial use but between you and me, it's done a yeoman's job at my work place and I know it's more accurate and reliable than the Ohaus scales we're provided. Great product - very pleased and will buy another one if and when this one croaks. Update. My first scale eventually "died" after 18 months of daily use because the battery compartment isn't waterproof and corrosion eventually occurred. I ordered another one just like it and sealed up the battery compartment door with Gorilla tape and will just use the rechargeable batteries it contains. After 4 months, this one works just as well as the other and the rechargeable batteries stay charged for what seems like months! I was recently transferred into a refrigerated workroom and after several hours, the scale started "freezing" but since I began placing it on a piece of cardboard (instead of the stainless steel countertop), it's worked flawlessly. Great product outperforming the "professional" models which cost 10x as much.

I received the scale today and it was much as I expected, but not entirely. The claim of accuracy of +/- 0.3 grams seems true as does the max weight of 11 lbs. However they are not true at the same time. in order to get the accuracy to be as quoted you must weigh small quantities. if weigh something large then the accuracy drops to +/- 3.0 grams. I am a home baker and was attracted to the accuracy to help me weigh out small ingredient additions toward the end of a mix. If the information printed clearly in the small user manual were listed amongst the advertising material in the listing then I would have been able to understand this fact before purchase. Alternatively many manufacturers provide a download link for their user manual. Once again it is hard to be an educated consumer on Amazon. UPDATE --- I'm adjusting my review upward by 1 star after the manufacturer contacted me and offered me a full refund. The product is sound and I don't want my money back, but I'll give top ratings if the manufacturer changes the listing to describe the accuracy of the scale like the manual does or if they put the manual pdf in the listing. Update 2: I've now used the scale to bake with and the 0.1 precision extends up to the full capacity of the scale. The manual indicates that the precision is reduced at the high end but they must be referring to the accuracy. The precision (displayed digits) is actually important to me even if the accuracy is not as good as the precision. I use the decimal places to help me stop pouring ingredients without overshooting my target. This scale is perfect for the small batch baking I am doing and its precision and responsiveness are just perfect.

Works well, but plastic covering over buttons is failing as shown. Doesn't impact function, but looks ugly.

I use this unit between 4 and 50 times a day. (Yes, that's 50, not a typo). It holds it's charge, so I don't waste batteries. I plug it in once or twice a week. It can be a little slow to react, and weighting small amounts of things (under 2 grams) i find it best to use bit of light paper as a tray so it can react easier. What is great is that it can take on a very high total load and still give that tenth of a gram reading. Makes mixing complex recipes easy, as i just keep adding into the same bowl; I don't have to dirty several bowls in order to bet the whole recipe put together. The size is also nice. You can put a good size container on it and still have full view of the display. That's a problem with smaller units in my experience. The water proof feature is nice, but I don't abuse it. Makes it easy to clean up, as you can use quite damp cloths to wipe down the scale surface. I've had several scales, and this is the handiest by far, and cheapest to operate.

It stopped working today. Lasted less than 5 months. Used it every day multiple times for meal macros. Very disappointed it didn't last longer. **A representative from the company contacted me and offered to make things right with either a refund or a replacement. Opted for a replacement because we really liked the features of the scale. We received it 2 days later and have been using it multiple times per day since. A huge thank you to the seller for stepping up and making things right.
