- ABOUT US: Brainy Bug Resources is a unique collection of resources for teaching language. Our resources have been developed by professionals with extensive clinical experience in teaching language, working with a team of talented artists. The result is resources that are scientifically sound, adhere closely to developmental norms and meet teaching needs for core language skills. This combo contains 6 decks to teach essential vocabulary and sentence structure.
- NOUNS 1: 30 beautiful, colourful cards to teach your child essential naming words (nouns). Each word in this deck has been carefully chosen for their relevance to a child’s life. Each word is charmingly illustrated in high-colour images. Naming words are important to start your child off on his language journey.
- NOUNS 2: Grow your child’s vocabulary with Level 2 of nouns. This deck of 30 cards is meant to follow on from Level 1, and contains the names of everyday objects that a child sees and interacts with. Each word has been chosen for its relevance to a young child’s life.
- VERBS 1: 30 beautiful, colourful cards to teach your child essential action words (verbs). Action words are the building blocks of a sentence. The Brainy Bug flashcards are unique in that each word has been chosen for its relevance to a child’s life.
- VERBS 2: 30 beautiful, colourful cards to teach your child essential action words (verbs). This set of cards is designed to build on from Deck 1.
- WHERE? Learn 30 of the most important position words (prepositions). Prepositions (such as in,on, under) are essential parts of sentences. Prepositions make longer, more complex sentences. They are also important parts of classroom instructions (eg: ‘Put that on my desk’), and they are important parts of mathematical and scientific understanding (eg: ‘Take the next number in the line’)
- VERBS PRACTICE DECK: 30 flash cards to teach simple Subject-Verb-Object sentences that use action words. Action words are the building blocks of sentences. But once your child has learnt her action words, she needs to use these in sentences. This deck gives your child the practise and confidence she needs to do this. Each action word is used in 3 different contexts, each time with a change in subject and object. The result is 90 fun sentences!
