There's probably no single fix for mice, and I tried many before resorting to poison: a cat, multiple cats, ultrasonic repellant devices, live traps, and snap traps. (This, of course, is after plugging access points and removing temptations as well as possible.) I started using these bait stations about a year ago when I found evidence of mice in a large outbuilding. After the first week or so, I felt as though I was making a dent, and by keeping the stations around doorways, I am maintaining reasonable control. Once in a while I find a little body out in the middle of the floor where I can scoop it up into the trash bin. My parents were having problems in their house, and snap traps weren't doing the job. I got them some of these, and we got in front of that situation too. I like that these are so easy to use: open the box and place the stations appropriately. No handling of the poison bait, very little chance of the dog or other animals getting into it, and not necessarily much handling of the corpses. If you keep killing off the adult mice, you'll keep them from nesting, and you will get the population under control.

UPDATE: 1 year later, I can say these traps totally did the trick!!! It took about 2 months for the mice to start eating the poison but once they did they cleared out of my house for the rest of the year. I haven’t found any corpses yet, but of the 8 traps, 3 are completely eaten and the rest have been eaten between 10-30%. A couple remained untouched for the whole year. ****** Original review: These didn't work for me AT ALL. I have even MORE mouse activity in my house than before I set these out. The green blocks inside look a bit dried out to me, so maybe I got some stale ones? I don't know, just very frustrated. I put two of these in my kitchen, two in the basement, and two in the utility room, and the mice are just running rampant everywhere. I think it's time to call a professional exterminator.....

These are nice mouse traps. The poison is inside the little box which is nice because it stops other animals or children from getting it. The poison lasts a long time because the mice eat just a little bit of it. It is very effective because once I saw that the poison had bite marks in it I never heard or seen the mouse again so it works pretty fast. There is no stickiness to it because they just walk into the box, eat the poison and walk back out, you dont see the mouse.
