Stanadyne Performance Formula Diesel Fuel Additive - 16 Oz. Case of 12

I drive a 2016 Ram 3500 with the Aisin transmission so I have the highest of the 3 power ratings the Cummins come with for that model year. I've always run an additive in it since the day I bought it. I was using another brand that is sometimes considered number one depending on the review you're reading. In a lot of the reviews I came across this additive was also at the top so I decided to do some more research. One of the first things I liked is that it's developed by a company that makes fuel system components for diesels. The second is that it's actually endorsed by some of the vehicle manufacturers. Third is that everything you need (cleaning, lubrication, cetane booster, winterizer/anti-gel and so on) is in one bottle. I called Stanadyne because you can get bottles for one specific purpose such as lubricity or winterizer and I was curious if those are more effective at doing that specific job than the blue bottle that contains them all in one. They do not, it's just as effective in the blue bottle as it is in the individual bottles however, the treatment ratio is different. I was still hesitant to purchase this stuff since I couldn't buy it in the big jugs like I could the other stuff. I decided to check on here and to my surprise I came across this case right here. This is an excellent value and the product is great. I'm a mechanic and very maintenance cautious, I strongly believe in preventative maintenance and just taking care of your vehicle in general. With diesel being what it is these days and the costs of fuel system components, anything I can do to preserve or extend the life of the components, I'm all for it. Since my truck isn't very old and I've used another additive prior to converting to this, I didn't have performance issues. One thing I was very happy to notice is the fuel mileage, according to the data screen on my truck. I've never seen better 17.7 to 18.0 MPG average on the highway. I drove to the beach and back the other day and was averaging 19.2 last time I looked at it before I made it home. While that may not be a significant increase, I was certainly pleased. I will continue using this stuff from now on and I will buy all my cases from right here as I've looked and not found a better deal for a case yet.

My check engine light was on and the code was saying I was either running way too lean or to hot. My gas millage that accounts for the last 500 miles dipped from 13.8 to 13.2 quite quickly so I assume I was running way to lean. Knowing I had the additive coming I let it go until it arrived. I am one tank into using the additive and the check engine light is off and my fuel mileage is working back toward what is more normal. I am only one tank it but so far it seems to we working wonderfully.

If you have a Diesel engine, truck, car or something else, you need a fuel additive. Have used for years in the tractor. Never a fuel issue. I was using the Ford Performance Enhancer & Cetane Boost in my truck, but during the freeze of 2021, it did not prevent icing--really not its fault as it does not have anti gel capabilities. They make one that does, but it does not boost cetane. This does it all; is economical (8 oz to a full tank) and seems to keep things going. Stanadyne, a maker of fuel injection parts, was not happy with the available additives and, so, developed their own. It may be like taking vitamins--if you don't get ill was it because of the supplement--but, it is cheap enough and the fuel is of such low quality that it seems to be good insurance. Some improvement in fuel economy and performance, also a plus.

Obama ordered the sulfur in diesel reduced where lubricity is a problem. If you have CP4 fuel pump, this helps. Extra filters from lift pump and clean fuel too.

Rating the effectiveness of products like these is like evaluating the quality of service provided by your mechanic for scheduled maintenance: if you don't have any issues, you assume the service was a success. I have used this product with every fill-up of my 2017 F-250 6.7L PSD. While it did not have an appreciable affect on fuel consumption, I never had an issue with clogged injectors, cold-weather performance, etc. after 80K miles. So to me it was relatively inexpensive insurance - especially since you can't always fill up at your 'trusted' diesel station. The one thing that would be nice would be having the plastic containers made leak-proof after opening, especially for folks with larger capacity fuel tanks.

For Diesel reliability and longevity, prevention is better than repair

This has been my go-to diesel fuel additive for many years now. Buying this on subscription is the cheapest way to get it. Most local autoparts stores want absurd money retail for them anymore. I've tried a lot of different additives over the years, I would argue that Stanadyne's is one of the best at cleaning and keeping clean injectors and restoring performance. I've lost count of how many clapped out, neglected old diesels I've bought over the years and have never failed to be impressed by how much performance just this fuel additive alone can restore after a few tanks with an ounce or two of this additive per tank. Not sure if I've gotten huge mileage bumps from it, but certainly for restoring and keeping the original performance of your fuel system, this is the stuff to get.
