This controversial film stars Edward Norton as Derek Vinyard, an angry young man seeking retribution for the murder of his father. Derek becomes the leader of a skinhead white-power movement, espousing racist views to his peers and using his intelligence to stir up as much race-hate as possible. Derek's actions culminate in murder and he is jailed. Three years later his girlfriend (Fairuza Balk) and brother Danny (Edward Furlong) await his release, but discover that Derek is a changed man, ashamed of his past and no longer driven by hatred. However, the consequences of his actions still haunt Derek's family and the threat of a return to violence is never far away. Review: Phenomenal - I watched this film a few times when I was younger and I thought it was great. Now rewatching it as an adult, it's nothing short of phenomenal! An unflinching and raw piece of film that EVERYONE should see. Review: Powerful - Excellent service, arrived very quick in good condition. The 90's was a great decade for movies and American History X is up there. Its like a bullet to the head, it draws you in to a world most people have not experienced and shows all sides of the complex nature of life. You might like it, you might not, but you should see it, if only to form your opinion on it. For me it's a powerful movie with realistic portrayals by all the main actors. Edward Norton brings life to his charactor, a charactor on a difficult journey. I am happy to have a movie that challenges the intellect in my blu ray collection. Recommended.

Phenomenal
I watched this film a few times when I was younger and I thought it was great. Now rewatching it as an adult, it's nothing short of phenomenal! An unflinching and raw piece of film that EVERYONE should see.

Loved it when I first watched it on TV. It shows the whole hypocrisy and brain washing when it comes to racism.

It's a very good film 🎥, centred on actual subjects, giving a reason to think and reflection.

Nazi piece of work Norton needs racist antivirus.
Absolutely brilliant film about a totally abhorrant subject.Edward Norton has got to be one of the best actors around.Never shies away from a hot potato as with Primal Fear.You may well hate the subject topic,but the portrayal is first class.Well worth a viewing as long as you retain the knowledge that it is after all a film!

Classical and great.
Movie came early and in great condition. This movie is a classic which covers dark topics of racism and social nationalism.

Great movie, but be careful, it seems that French subtitles / language are not available. Removed 1 star for this reason.

There is a lot of violence in this movie. However, there is a lesson in it about racism. Highly recommend

Depending on where you land in your thoughts this can be a very hard movie to watch and digest but I feel it should be viewed at least once. It's memorable and to have it in HD is a gift.

Film superbe que j'ai vu des dizaines de fois je ne reviendrais pas dessus il FAUT le voir. Ma critique vient du fait que la version que j'ai reçu est tout en anglais sans sous titrage et possibilité de changer de langue...so be careful.
